Emily is an avid horse rider and joined the cadets in the hopes of becoming a groom for the military. She was unfortunately forced to join the scouts after the titans broke through the wall.
She is deathly afraid of heights and hate using the ODM gear. As a result, she sticks mostly to horseback and uses the ODM gear to take out the legs of titans so others can go for the kill. This has proved quite effective, so no one really minds.
Emily is still alive by sheer luck and cowardice.
He horse is called Serenity and she prides herself on their bond together. Serenity is completely unflappable, but doesn't like to stand still.
She enjoys watching Hange work and thinks Bertholdt, Jean and Sasha are cute, but is too shy to say anything.
