Zahri the Oasis Fennec

Name: Zahri the Oasis Fennec

Meaning: "Blossom" in Arabic (زهر)

Gender: Female (she/her)

Species: Fennec (Botanykinetic)

Personality: Playful, curious and fearless 

Zahri was born to an otherwise normal couple of fennecs in the Sahara desert. She was a sickly thing despite her parents' attempt at caring for their newborn. Upon reaching an oasis, however, Zahri bloomed, litteraly. Her dried fur became fresh grass, her cheeks grew leaves pink roses bloomed all across her body. But that wasn't all: upon having access to plenty of water, Zahri is not only rejuvinated but is also granted the power of botanykinesis (the power to control plants) over the local area's flora.

Her power allows her to control the movement and growth of nearby plants and seeds, provided that all criterias to support plant life are met (appropriate pH, presence of nutrients, light intensity and moisture level). 

Zahri's greatess weakness comes from her composition as a plant/animal hybrid creature. She is incredibly sensitive to water shortages as well as blazing light or heat. She will succumb quickly if she cannot hydrate or shelter from the desert's sun at its peak. 

Zahri is loved by everyone, as she can accelerate the production of food and create shade by manipulating plants. She spends her days playing around with her friends and siblings. However, when the water supply runs out, Zahri's friends and family have to find a way to move her to a new oasis before she dries out as well.

Zahri's previously incarnation was a male dwarf wolf named Rose who used his botanykinesis in an attempt to salvage a post-volcanic eruption island and become it's dictator. The idea was scrapped as it didn't match my aesthetic and I didn't find pleasure in drawing such a character.
