I. Personality
aurel's default with strangers is a very formal and detached manner, having been raised by a high class family. Underneath, he's quite anxious. He is constantly trying to predict the actions of others, their thoughts on him, where his next meal is coming from, etc. His main drive is self preservation. Quick to relent to pressure in order to protect himself, he has learned to value himself first. He is slow to trust, high defense walls. Despite this, he is fiercely loyal once finally befriended, to the point of clinginess.

II. History
aurel was born and raised in Arakiindale, a very big and well decorated city within the Wallshands forest in the country of Tells, near the border to Germane. As a town located close to a border, it's trade flourished. The Acanthus family is the head of this city and the patriarch, Drys Acanthus, their equivalent of a mayor.
It was to this family that Laurel was born, with high hopes for his future. As he grew up however, it became more and more obvious that his struggle to do anything more than children's magic cantrips was less of a temporary issue catching up to his peers and more of a legitimate inability.
Despite this, as the son of the mayoral family, Laurel was expected to attend a well-to-do college next to the forest, where many citizens of Arakiindale are accepted and welcomed, as well. He was, however, the first and only applicant who has failed the entry exam. After this event, attempts to teach him magic were stopped, and instead his further education was pivoted more along the lines of what a spouse of the house would require.
