First impressions of Lindsay could be rough, as she does have a habit of snapping at people. However the other impression is usually that she's a bit full of sass and sarcasm, sometimes havnig a biting edge to it. Most of this is doen on purpose as she doesn't usually trust most people upon first contact. She wants to see the absolute best of a person before deciding if they're worth putting down the wall for. She can be incredibly loyal to those few that get inside, to the point where she coudl be asked to do something without any reason and she'd do it, although it will come with some snappy remarks.

Lindsay had spent most of her time outside within the forests of Kanto, investigating and looking into the cool bug Pokemon that lingered there. Most of this was an escape from her home life, which was full of bullying and neglect. Everyone found her gross or silly for liking bug Pokemon, and her family did not think very highly of her in any respect. This eventually caused her to run away with her only Pokemon, Ping, and never look back.
It was during her time of being homeless that she ended up coming across one of Team Rocket's operations. It had been a complete accident and she had no intension in getting tangled up in any of it. However she hadn't been careful enough and was caught by Team Rocket, immediately labeled as if she was some sort of spy that was going to report them to the authorities. Her options at that point were very few and it caused her to join the Team so they knew she wouldn't rat them out.
At first she really hated Team Rocket, but it soon became home for her as she gained close companions. After all she hadn't had people who cared for her like they actually did despite her circumstance, and soon she didn't mind playing minion to whatever Team Rocket's game was. As long as hse was with those she cared about, she was content.
