Algieba is an emotional mess of a shape-shifter who looks like he's 12 and has anger issues.
He's very sarcastic with a dry, rude sense of humor. Seems tough but cries easily and is easily scared. Although he comes off as standoffish and unapproachable, he's actually very extroverted and flirty when he's comfortable, and shows his love with friendly bullying. He can also be very aggressive, because he does not react well to any sort of stress and lashes out when upset. He's very distrustful of strangers due to past trauma.
*dream squad mention: I first saw Algieba's monster form in a dream, then a slightly different version in another dream

Shape-Shifting
He transforms into a large cat-like beast when he's mad, scared, or anxious. He's basically the furry Hulk, if Bruce Banner was a 5'5", baby-faced twink.
After his power was exploited when he was a teenager, he decided he would keep it a secret from everyone. However, he can't always control it, and his secret was revealed following a transformation in the Troubled City (the place where Seven Ghosts takes place).
He also always has pointy teeth and cat-like eyes, because he's just always stressed, poor kid.
Past
Algieba grew up in a small village in a valley, but he was always a restless soul. He was raised by his stepsister, Sand, after their parents died when he was a toddler. He ran away from his village at 14 to see the world. Soon after, he was forced to join a traveling gang of bandits, who discovered his power and forced him to use it on their targets. This gang was super abusive to him, constantly beating and starving him if he ever stepped out of line or refused to hurt anyone. By the age of 16, he had given in completely to his monster side, going completely feral. It wasn't until he was 17 that he snapped out of it and decided that he would leave the gang once and for all. He escaped with the help of a pair of sisters he came across in the woods. The two of them took him to their village, where he was given a job at their inn (his outfit is actually his old uniform). The gang, however, found him again and kidnapped him, but this time to make an example out of him. He escaped with the help of Regulus, but lost his leg in the process due to an explosion.

• Actually has a very nice smile when he’s genuinely happy
• Hates being called a demon, because that’s what his old gang would call him
• Despite his appearance, he isn’t very carnivorous and prefers vegetables
• Horses hate him
• Has zero filter and will let you know exactly what's on his mind
• Doesn't care about insults, but reacts poorly to threats
• He can purr and sometimes catches himself making other cat-like noises. He cannot roar
• He loves to travel and is nomadic by nature
