PERSONALITY
To others Zane generally seems angry, tired, and perhaps even scary. This is because he is not very good at speaking to people he does not know due to being unable to filter himself. This leads him to come off as rude very often. The only times he really speaks up is when spoken to (even then sometimes he does not) and when he is upset about something.
He'd generally rather be left alone than socialize, though there are a few special people who are exceptions. At work he is often seen as the "protector" type and if any of his coworkers have problems they ask him for help.
Zane often wears incredibly provocative and vulgar clothes ironically and as a joke, though in certain settings he has enough tact to wear clothes that are more appropriate for the location. He seems to not care if what he's wearing (or even what he's doing sometimes) makes others uncomfortable.
INTERESTS
His favorite thing to do is go to places and cause trouble. This can vary from malls, stores, amusement parks, etc. If he can think of something stupid to do there then he'll do it. He's a huge fan of the "24 hours in x place" challenge and has taken the time to sneak into places to try to do it. He has a whole blog full of photos of empty amusement parks, stores, arcades, etc either after closing or that have been abandoned that he managed to get into.
Zane has an affinity for knives and swords and will collect them if they look interesting enough. He has been known to collect other weapons as well like nun chucks and even a mace or two. He is also trained in mixed martial arts and enjoys fighting for fun, hoping to some day enter competitions.

HISTORY
Zane grew up in a very unstable environment and was raised by his uncle and aunt who were incredibly abusive. He acted out a lot and was constantly in legal trouble as a child and ended up being expelled. He attempted to run away once, but disappointingly that did not go very well and it wasn't long before he was taken back home. As soon as he was of age he left his home and sold his things to make enough money to change his name.
He couch surfed for a while while he studied for his GED and applied to jobs. Around this time is when he met Axel who was roommates with one of the kind people who let him stay with them temporarily.
With the help of his new boyfriend he was able to score a job and the two kept in touch while Zane moved from house to house until they were both able to find a small apartment together in a pretty decent area.
He doesn't have many goals in life besides saving up to visit different states and countries and is very satisfied with just relaxing and playing video games with his boyfriend.
