Story

Isolation

Radley awoke one day, dead and alone with no memory of where he was or how he died. The house around him had some fire damage but was still decently in tact. For years upon years Radley roamed the house searching for any information on who he was or how he died, but found nothing. The house sat in the middle of vast overgrown farmland, presumably belonging to whoever lived in this house. He tried venturing out off of the property and came upon a long stretch of railroad. When Radley tried to cross it he found himself unable to, some sort of dark energy blocking the path.

So, unable to find anyone or leave the land, Radley spent his days entertaining himself. He played with dominoes, stargazed, and carved a line for each day he was alone. After awhile he was running out of room on the walls and simply started counting the years instead, lighting a candle on his birthday to celebrate.

Grim truth

It took many decades before someone finally showed up. A tall and lean figure in black robes appeared by the traintracks, investigating. Radley quickly ran to them, so overjoyed to finally see another person. As he approached, he saw a large whispy scyth at their side, this was a grim reaper. The reaper was confused to see him, claiming that no spirits should be here at all.

The reaper informed Radley that according to his file, he wasn't supposed to die for at least another decade. There had been some sort of foul play in his death that he can't remember. The reaper didn't seem bothered, writing it off as demonic interference. They pulled out a device, saying they're sending Radley to purgatory until further notice. In a split second decision, Radley grabbed the device as he was sent away, not wanting his case to go unsolved.

Adventures begin

When Radley opened his eyes, he found himself in a hotel like building, the device having been confiscated off of him as "no personal items" were allowed. Radley knew how boring sitting around and waiting was, and he damn well wasn't about to do it any longer. He made his way around purgatory, trying to navigate the winding endless halls, avoiding other spirits that had long since mentally gone blank over who knows how many years. He managed to steal the device back, dozens of ghouls and other creatures trying to stop him. In a panic, Radly turned the dial, being transported again.

Much to Radley's horror, he finds himself at the entrance of hell, being pushed in by a huge crowd of creatures big and small, filing into the firery gates before him. Lost and confused, Radley sets off on his adventure to solve the case of his death, whether it double kills him or not.
