Sabato

Deep down, Sabato is a caring kid and has always loved those close to him. His trust isn’t easily won but once it is good as family to Sabato, he’s even willing to sacrifice himself for them.

In general Sabato is very self-deprecating, struggling with his low self-worth ever since being saved. He feels he’s carrying the weight of his whole village on his shoulders and must find a purpose worthy of their sacrifice.

He’s survived by being a doormat for others and appearing as obedient as possible. Leading to only valuing his life by how much he can be useful to others. Sabato shifts how he wants to be perceived depending on who he’s talking to. When first meeting Shivago he pretended to be indifferent and cold hearted to please him. Only later on does Sabato drop his guard and show his true colours. Sabato is also quite stubborn and set on his goals and can get distraught when his plans fall apart.

Sabato is the protagenist of Soul Stealer. He has the ability to break any seal and read the Gods’ language. This is due to forcefully being saved by the God of Curses, Yakim. He wields a dragonscale book that allows him to use its power at the cost of his life force. His power takes the form of two koi fish reminiscent of the ones he took care of.
