About
A tall raen with brilliantly shining scales, a warm smile and a comforting air all around him, carrying with him a scent of flowers in perpetual bloom.
Tailen is a beautiful, untouchable enigma to those who aren't acquainted with the person he really is - an enormously empathetic, kind individual that collects and cares for plants as a hobby and just so happens to look like he walked out of a distinguished noble household. The raen is warm and welcoming to most anyone, but this often means that he keeps his personal worries bottled, not wanting to worry or upset those close to him.
Tailen grew up and still lives in Shirogane, where he runs a small flower shop. He has healer training as a white mage and is quite capable, but he tends to decline healer jobs due to how they affect his psyche - he is a worrier and tends to blame himself should anything go wrong, even if it's clearly not his fault.
Personality
Kindhearted
Tailen is a charming individual who's naturally captivating personality often attracts and holds the interest of others. He's gentle, warm and engaging with almost anyone, often going out of his way to take someone aside when he sees them struggle, just to give them a pep talk or a hug.
Caretaker
Tailen is observant and incredibly empathetic toward others' struggles, going far beyond his skills as a healer. His intense desire for everyone to feel good and safe is often displayed in the way he interacts with people - simple, but important questions or prompts to give him the answers he needs to help someone.
Social
Outside of his more obvious hobbies, Tailen occasionally enjoys a well put together social event as well, delighting in meeting new people and making new friends over a good drink (Doesn't actually drink much, but will if asked to). He's well-spoken, intelligent and a bit of a scholarly conversation is something he quite enjoys.
Worrier
Tailen doesn't function well under intense pressure. He becomes clumsy, agitated and nervous, messing up simple tasks which in turn only adds to his worry until he eventually crumbles beneath its weight. He always blames himself when something like this happens, never others, and it tends to take him a while to recover.
Emotional
Although he's positive and optimistic most of the time, Tailen tends to blame himself when things go wrong. He's sensitive and emotional, but bottles it all up so he doesn't bother anyone, especially when he's known to be the 'Sunshine'.
Self-doubting
Should anything go wrong, be it failing to grow a certain type of flower or the health of a patient, Tailen tends to blame all faults on himself and usually withdraws in on himself and it's difficult to bring him out of that mindset.

Trivia
- A massive softie. Loves everyone. Might secretly be the actual sun.
- Not a big spender, but impressive jewelry, no matter the kind, will almost always catch his eye. He likes to accessorize.
- Does not like purposeless violence or people getting hurt (physically and emotionally). Doesn't really know how to fight even though he has the muscle and build to do it pretty effectively.
- Hates being dirty. He's capable of spending hours polishing his scales for that extra shine and brushing his hair until it's perfect.
- Terrified of heights and of getting lost. This is partly why he hasn't traveled much and tends to stick to bigger, more populated cities.
RP Hooks
The Language of Flowers
Tailen adores caring for or talking about flowers. If someone needs a second opinion on where to place their decorative trees, wants a flowery accessory that doesn't wilt or simply wants to learn about which plant is which, Tailen is your guy. Though he doesn't travel outside of the cities much, if someone were to take him to a rare plant's location, he'd more than likely agree to go there.
The Simple Joys
Tai is social and friendly with everyone who isn't outwardly hostile towards him and enjoys casual touches. He's a cuddler, gentle to a fault. Doesn't take things further than the occasional hook up though, in fear of being left behind or used as a 'pretty accessory'.
Let Me Help
Outside of being a skilled White mage and a Scholar, Tailen is quite talented at diagnosing the less common diseases as well. He's a fantastic healer and goes to great lengths to ensure his patients heal. He's constantly looking for more knowledge as well, searching for books on rare diseases, people with stories to tell, etc.
C-Combat?
Tailen works out and keeps his body in shape but he has no idea how to actually use it. He'd always used his magic in situations where combat was required and as such never picked up a sword of any kind. Sparring? Terrifying! He doesn't look like a person who can't fight and that's mainly why he doesn't bring it up, even though he does want to learn. It's just so very embarrassing.

Rhaegar
best friend
Tailen and Rhaegar have an almost symbiotic relationship. Where Tailen is often the voice of reason and the person who helps Rhaegar calm down in times of need, Rhaegar is the one who helps the blonde open up, be more spontaneous and less afraid of the world out there. Although Tailen doesn't travel as much as Rhaegar does, the redhead always pays a visit when he's in town.
X'ara
friend
X'ara and Tailen have met via Rhaegar, who introduced the two. X'ara enjoys Tailen's mellow, kind personality and knows he can trust the older raen with anything. The two often exchange newfound medical knowledge over a cup of tea that Tailen himself grows and produces. X'ara knows Tailen is much more shy and delicate than Rhaegar and as such he treats him considerably gentler.
Sivard

Tailen and Sivard have met on a couple of occassions. Tailen is a ray of sunshine and Sivard genuinely appreciates the warmth the au ra man can bring into one's life. Tailen had especially helped him during and directly after the Dragonsong War, especially with Sivard's shattered psyche, as the both of them were involved in it.
