Dune has a naturally grumpy and sleepy looking resting face. Contrary to his appearance, he’s quite polite to everyone he meets and affectionate with those he’s close to. He is the type of friend who you could call in an emergency and he would be on his way immediately. Dune is a listener, while in larger groups he is tends to keep quiet and will voice his thoughts only when asked or in a private setting. Unfortunately, this leads to him bottling up his feelings rather than letting them out and can cause misunderstandings. He usually tries to solve issues on his own and is quite independent.
Dune grew up an only child but his parents had one more child when he was 18 and about to go to college. As such he doesn't have a close relationship with his younger sibling. Currently he is a graduate student with a side job as a web developer. While working odd jobs to pay for his undergraduate education, he took on some work from the local gang in the area. After earning their trust he developed an affiliated status. He is not a member of the group but a trusted associate.
Dune and Cherie grew up as childhood friends, being the same age and neighbors. Both care for each other deeply, and are each other’s confidants. They tried dating in college but soon realized that they were better off as friends. He considers Cherie his best friend and would do pretty much anything for her.
Dune and Maybelle met in college and bonded over a similar taste in music. She will often cook for him and crash at his apartment. He also is quite protective over her and chases away people who try to take advantage of her.
