Profile

Heylel

First Angel

Heylel - the first life of the universe, Yahweh's partner-in-crime, exiled rogue, and the sole reason why religion around Yahweh continues

Has long hair and no face like most angels

Chaotic neutral; emotionally impulsive but action-wise he's brooding with well-thought out schemes; loves pleasure and has little respect for planet-dwellers in the universe

Name:
  • Heylel is the Hebrew name for the Morning Star/Light-bringer; Lucifer in Latin; I chose the Hebrew version because the name Yahweh is Hebrew; if he was Lucifer then Yahweh would have to be called Jehovah (the Latin form) to be consistent
Backstory
  • Heylel was the first living being ever created by Yahweh, and was the only life in the universe besides Him for quite a while
  • They developed an extremely close relationship with each other that transcends any other type of connection
  • While Yahweh had His reign of terror on Earth, Heylel encouraged Him and they even had a lot of fun messing with the humans together as if they were toys
  • It was Yahweh who first started to catch on to the humans' suffering and realize that His actions may be wrong; He started to doubt Himself and become depressed
  • Heylel had no regard or respect for human life, because it didn't matter much relative to the entire universe; he also didn't understand how special they were to Yahweh
  • Heylel became frustrated with Yahweh's worrying and tried to make Him forget about His concerns and continue on as normal; it also really upset Heylel to see his beloved partner so upset over something he didn't see as significant; Yahweh felt that Heylel was being too brash and callous about humanity
  • Their back-and-forth misunderstandings and arguing escalated until it hit a breaking point; in a fit of anger, Yahweh broke Heylel's halo, abusing His supreme power over His friend; this meant that Heylel was no longer immortal, and only had a few hundred thousand Earth years left to live
  • Yahweh immediately regretted this act deeply, but He was too afraid to talk to Heylel after essentially taking his life; He isolated Heylel onto a new planet He created called Hell, filled with all of Heylel's favorite things: brimstone, fire, and beautiful lava casts; He didn't want to look at Heylel again because of the guilt He felt, and He was afraid their perspectives on humanity were irreconcilable
  • During Heylel's exile, he had plenty of time to reflect on his limited days while in a beautiful paradise his old friend made for him; the only thing on his mind was making Yahweh feel better about what He's done to humanity; in his motivation, he escaped from Hell and went to Earth, barely able to stop himself from lashing out at all of humanity for being the cause of Yahweh's psychological suffering and guilt
  • Heylel decided to wreak havoc on humans' history records instead; he re-wrote all biblical stories so that the evil committed by Yahweh was attributed to himself instead; he did everything he could to paint Yahweh in a good light and kindle humans' love toward Him instead of fear; in doing this, he hoped to direct the blame away from Yahweh and relieve his guilt
  • These actions made Yahweh feel even more guilt and self-hatred; they still did not contact for a long time
  • Then at some point thousands of years from now, they finally see each other again and reconcile; Yahweh restores Heylel's halo and immortality
  • Heylel is not angry at Yahweh's abuses of power—in fact, he encourages them with validation—but he is angry at the emotional stock Yahweh has put into Earth and other planets
Other facts
  • Heylel and Yahweh have their own language that only they use to communicate to each other
  • They are equals in their relationship, but Heylel has a lot of respect for Yahweh for creating such beauty as the universe and uses gestures such as worship and bowing in a way that the two don't consider subservient
  • Heylel often refers to Yahweh as “Universe” and with It/It pronouns
  • Heylel finds the inanimate to be divine, having much more regard for it than the living
  • Voice claim is the vocalist from Les Friction; his voice gets higher pitched when he is excited and he cackles somewhat like Bill Cipher
  • His favorite environments are molten and volcanic planets because they resemble the forming stage of many planets, giving an ancient feel
