The most important thing you can do for yourself is pretend to be someone strong. You don’t have to really be strong if you can fake it, because if you can fake it well enough eventually you’ll even be able to convince yourself your strong too. It doesn’t matter how scared you are then, because you’ve already talked yourself into believing in your own strength. After that, you need to convince the ones you hate that you’re stronger than them so that they can’t hurt you. If you’ve convinced them you’re strong enough that they don’t even try to get to you.

Then, and only then, can you convince the people that you care about that you’re strong. I’m not sure what happens then, though. My cat’s independent enough as it and, well, Hospital Floor… she’s always been special. I don’t think those two really would ever believe that I’m strong, they hear too many of my thoughts, but I guess I don’t mind. They’re not the kind to kiss and tell, even if they could.
