Rikako has fair skin, purplish-red eyes and black hair.

As an adult, her hair is styled in a loose braid that is also sometimes draped on the side, and wears a light-brown blazer over a pale-yellow blouse, black tight skirt, tights, and black kitten heels.

As a teenager, Rikako's hair was let loose. She was usually seen wearing the Mizo middle school uniform, consisting of a white blouse, striped tie, grey skirt, black stockings and brown school shoes.

Rikako is a reserved but fair and polite girl who maintains a certain distance and only ever interacts when deemed necessary. She is very keen about studying and is a bookworm at heart, eager to please her teachers, get good grades and impress her classmates. Because of this, she is alienated by the rest of her schoolmates. 

Despite her reserved exterior, Rikako is also shown to be warm and kindhearted. She always makes an effort in being friendly and helpful to others, a trait that is admired by Naoto and Nagi. This sense of sympathy and kindness likely stemmed from her anemia and alienation. Despite her composed and warm personality, Rikako can be quite prickly when certain buttons are pushed, and isn't above joking around, making snarky comebacks and being stern. 

Rikako is shown to be the most levelheaded of the duo, always thinking logically and flexibly even under pressure.

Her fatal flaw is that she never really focuses on her well-being. Because Rikako is always focusing on her peers, she can be indecisive when it comes to her personal needs. 

Deduction Skills

As a detective, Rikako possesses sharp thinking skills to help her formulate deductions and piece puzzles together to see the bigger picture.

Firearm and Self-Defense

She normally carries handguns with her as means of self-defense when confronting dangerous situations. Rikako notably has good aim, both far and near, but tends to quickly run out of bullets due to how much she uses them up. Not only that, but she also trained in hand-to hand combat defense classes to fight criminals with her fists in the event her gun is out of bullets or doesn't have a gun at all.

In the past, she made up for her lack of fighting skills with a slingshot she carried around. She usually brought it everywhere she went in the event that she and Nagi would be ambushed.

Her name Rikako means "village" (里), "flower" (花), and "child" (子), while her surname Nanami means "noted, named" (名), and "waves, billows" (波).
