Bio:

Daughter to King Brant Darkstorm and an unknown Fortune-telling Lioness, Step-daughter to Queen Sylvi Darkstorm and Older Step-sister to Lyra (Ghost) Darkstorm. Next in line to the throne. She has gone through much of her childhood being sheltered and under the care of her fathers head advisor/sorcerer. Her curiosity for the outside world often leads her into trouble, mostly escaping etiquette lessons and sneaking off to the back of the castle to her "special place" dubbed "Starfall" residing in a thick forest near a waterfall with a natural cave inside, small unknown crystals  decorate the top of the cavern that glow and twinkle like stars during the full moons. She has not been fully accepted by her step mother and is seen more of an embarrassment and stain in her fathers lineage being a maned lioness, a rare trait among them and often thought lowly of as they were infertile and could not produce an heir. Her father consulted with Algus, the sorcerer, to fix a potion that would "correct" her, he fixes the full mane problem but not her infertility. Sylvi, in fact, rarely lets her interact with Ghost at all and was very much offended when the King brought Brynja to the castle and declared her his direct heir to the throne instead of the daughter he had with his Queen.

When a caravan made it's stop at her kingdom, she became friends with one of the travelers son, Thalin, a shy and peculiar looking  Elk-Unicorn. The two were struck by each others differences from the norm and quickly became friends, often meeting up at Starfall,playing in the flower fields, exploring the nearby areas, play sparring and sometimes getting into mischief, ending the day with a promise of coming back to meet the next. However, one day Thalin never returned, only hearing the news of his kidnapping days later from the Head Sorcerer and was heart broken but vowed to find him again.

She took up training from the Guard Captain, a very strict and hot-tempered, female ,Maned Wolf called Winter who didn't bother to treat her like a princess and built her up in sword fighting. On her 17th year, she had gotten into an arguement with her father during a morning hunt over the treatment of his people, not noticing their Sorcerer was plaguing his mind with dark magic, enslaving, murdering innocents for trivial things and over taxing. As tensions rode to a high ,as soon as her father turned, he found himself stabbed and killed by a broad sword at the hands on Brynja, who was possesed by the Sorcerer and nearly killed Ghost, who had seen the whole thing,had he not been interrupted.

Brynja soon wakes up in a cell, Winter dismissing the guards and helps her escape, before she is to be executed at sunrise,with a  group of paid mercenaries onto a ship with no time to ask questions.

The group of mercenaries, The RedFangs, turn out to be not so kind during their journey and would often threaten to ransom her to her fathers rival kingdom had she not followed orders, from cleaning, being degraded, insulted to some of the members forcing themselves on her. One time in particular, having had enough of the treatment, she bites off the penis of a mercenary who forced himself on her and was the worst of the lot, demanding a duel. Their leader, a large axe wielding grizzly bear who dubs himself War, takes her up on the duel. Though he does not hit her directly, she still loses miserably. Being quite impressed with her attitude and "ballsy" action, he declares to the others that she is now his property and servant, no one would be allowed to touch her, while throwing his penis-less subordinate over the boat to die.

Still treated like dirt under Wars wing, she sets out to prove herself after healing from the injuries she sustained during the duel, practicing with Wars "Right hand man", a strict serpent named Maugrim, under his approval.

After years in Wars servitude, she becomes third in command at 27, gaining much respect from the other members. Being in the RedFang allowed her to collect information and keep her fingers in a lot of pockets where ever they went, still keeping her promise of finding Thalin, though she had never heard of anything from her homeland as, unknowingly to her, War had forbid it to keep her from returning. This changed when she decided to leave the group and look for her dear friend on her own. The closer she got to her homeland, the more things she heard about it from other travelers in the taverns and inns. Rumors told a raid and rebellion had broken out many years ago, that the Queen committed suicide shortly after the Kings death and the youngest daughter tragicaly fell from the seaside cliff. The now ruling sorcerer went mad with his own dark power and turned into a demon during the chaos and was never seen again,presumably dead. She could not believe it until she saw it herself.

Her homeland was in complete ruin, the castle almost completely destroyed, the village no longer existed and no one else in sight. The guilt she carried for not being there to protect her home and family hit her like a torrent. Devastated, she walked towards Starfall, deciding to spend the night at the cave while it began to storm, the twinkling crystals above her reminding her of the old days as she curled up into a ball on the caverns floor.
