Kori isn't the nicest person. He's quick witted, cunning, and rude - Not to mention easily irritated. He tends to try and stay away from people he doesn't consider a friend and doesn't trust people all that easily either, mostly due to his past and how he generally hates anyone who seems even the slightest bit off (even people he considers mutuals). He is also extremely sly and untrustworthy, as a fox would be..

Although he is a harbinger, he isn't known as one to the general public. This is because The Tsaritsa finds him far too troublesome for the organisation and prefers to keep him in the dark. He carries out orders for her and that's about it. If anything, he loathes her for giving him a vision that only weakens him due to the added cold.

Getting to know me wouldn't be very clever. It would be best if you run away before it's too late.
— Kori

As an unlisted harbinger, he has quite the ego - he has built his reputation from his actions alone, not his title. Tsaritsa refuses to let him claim his harbinger title in public, therefore people's fear is simply his doing - despite being scolded by Chen-Yae plenty of times about his politeness, he likes the reputation he has built as it keeps as many people away from him and his loved ones as possible.

MISC
ABILITIES
  • Ice Rush: Kori uses his polearm to send out a flurry of ice in a circular motion to either incapacitate enemies or to create a shield for himself.
  • Ice Mist: In the same motion as "Ice Rush", Kori can send a mist of ice toward his enemies. If inhaled, the tiny shards of ice will slowly cut the insides of his opponents, incapacitating them indefinitely.
GENERAL
  • Kori is part of a species named "Khitrets" (made up by me), and while they do have fox traits such as their tail and ears, they're completely human. However, they're hunted regularly for their fur and bone marrow, almost to extinction.
  • His birthday is the 21st June.
  • He's completely hellbent on avenging his parents, little does he know, the people who ended his parents lives are already dead.
  • He absolutely hates the cold and water, he would rather cleanse his body with wet towels rather than actually bathing.
  • His favourite food is Sticky Honey Roast, specifically from Mondstadt because of the warm feeling it gives him.
  • His hobbies include stargazing, fighting, arguing, thieving and bullying his parental figure, Chen-Yae.
  • He has a Dendro delusion, he uses smoke, poison, hallucinations and trickery to his advantage. He learned these smokey tricks from his other parental figure, Mizuki.

History

Early Life

Throughout his childhood, Kori spent his time with his mother and father, who would raise him until he was 9. Despite being a good kid back then, he did have his outbursts from time to time. He'd often lash out at people that would come anywhere near his parents, even now, he's really defensive of the people he loves. He was completely oblivious to the fact that soon he and his parents would shortly be attacked by hunters for their smooth fur and rich bone marrow.

Hunters attacked their home in Snezhanya, killing both of the parents while Kori escaped out of the back. He caught a glance of both the faces of the killers and his parents' as they were murdered in cold blood. After sneaking on a boat to get as far away from Snezhnaya as he possibly could, he ended up on the outskirts of Liyue. This was where he was found by his current parental figure "Chen-Yae". Chen took him in and cared for him until he was 18, trying to form him into the best man he possibly could despite his past. It didn't exactly work all that well though, and eventually Kori ran away, making his way into the Harbingers ranks. Chen wanted the best for Kori, not wanting him to be fuelled by rage and violence like he once was, and his efforts were obvious, but Kori couldn't handle the stress put upon him. He simply couldn't handle "being good", not with all of the hatred building up in his heart for the men who ruined his chance at a perfect life. He set out to kill them, no matter the consequences.

Vision and Present Day

Vision

The Tsaritsa had "noticed his efforts", his struggle, and was blessed with a cryo vision. But this only showed as a symbol for his hatred for humanity. Her reasoning wasn't completely genuine either, as she knew of Chen-Yae's relationship with Kori, and set out to spite him by letting Kori join the ranks of the Fatui. As a harbinger no less. This allowed him to run wild, being as violent as he pleased (with some restraint of course), and gave him more opportunity to kill the men who killed his parents.

Chen-Yae wasn't exactly on good terms with Tsaritsa, and so it seemed he had this coming, to ruin the one thing he held dear.

Present Day

At his current age, he reunited with Chen-Yae. This is because he felt stronger, both mentally and physically, and believed Chen wouldn't bother with the lessons anymore. He still cared deeply for his parental figure, and did miss him throughout the entire time they were separated. So going back to him made him feel a lot happier, however, Chen refused to talk to Kori for over a year because of his decision to join the Fatui against his wishes. After he calmed down though, they frequently share flowers with each other (specifically Glaze Liles, it soon becoming his favourite flower for more reasons than one) and creating more memories and bonding like you would with any other elder. While Chen-Yae really annoys Kori on a daily basis, the memories they both share are far too precious for him to even begin to think about leaving or losing him. He's extremely defensive of him because of this, despite Chen-Yae being very capable of defending himself due to his adeptus origin.

That said, Kori is naturally violent, sly, cunning - He doesn't kill the innocent as tempting as that may be for him. The lessons he learned from his parents still ring true, and he refuses to break the humane rules they lived by their entire lives. He soon learned to live among humans in Liyue, but continued to keep his distance at all costs. While Khitrets are realistically considered human, that's not how hunters see it, along with the majority of Teyvat. They're a borderline extinct species due to excessive hunting for their resources, and Kori hopes to be able to save as many as he possibly can by hunting the men killing them off.

Parental Figure

Kori and Chen have quite the history, luckily they've moved past that and now they're pretty close. They care about each other a lot, despite Chen loving to get under Kori's skin to piss him off. He had found Kori when he was a child at 12. Chen, being the bored man he is, decided to take him in and raise him. He wasn't a parent by any means and that clearly affected Kori in the long run. Despite that, they're extremely close after everything they've been through and Kori has learned that running from your problems isn't the best idea.

"Babysitter" / Parental Figure

Kori and Mizuki have quite an odd relationship. They met each other through Chen as he needed someone to watch Kori while he was out elsewhere. This is where she got her nickname of "babysitter". They've always had attitude toward each other, sometimes even getting into fights - Mizuki winning every time. Despite this, Mizuki cares for Kori, almost in a motherly sense, and Kori sees her as someone he can trust if he ever needs help.
