Her last name,Brantley, was a coincidence to her having fire powers later on and was originally given because of her blazing temper she faces when she’s pushed to her limits, she never really learned her last name since her parents were brutally murdered when she was too young to understand what her last name was and never wanted to find out who they were and what they were because of the trauma. Shortly after her parents died and she had ran away from the chaos happening, she was eventually taken to a laboratory that was ran by a mad scientist that sought a way to alter peoples genetics to allow them to have powers. by inserting a nettle through one eye to spread to the other, then throughout their bloodstream(where scar came from, struggling). Lynn was the first, but the last since her powers were eventually too powerful for even her body. She could contain them enough with enough experience later through the years. She would also kill the scientist shortly after to stop anymore tests like her’s on innocent people. Still developing the rest…..

Brantley means “Fire” in German and Branton (one of the nicknames) means ”dweller of the burnt town”, which was gained that name after her powers became known and legend
