Independent to the point of basically becoming feral, Tek has a hard time in any kind of social situation. That isn't to say that he doesn't enjoy the company of others. In fact, there are certain people whom he is happy to be around. Tek just has a hard time trusting anything new, and if he can keep himself safe by being alone then he will always choose that option. He is incredibly intelligent as an effect of his upbringing, and his problem-solving skills are unmatched by any other dog (and perhaps any of the humans) at the Slate Mine estate.
