Isaac, Norm and Nora

Basic Info:

Isaac: The father of the twins & Jackie's boyfriend. 40 years old. Works at the same tech firm as Jackie, which is where they met (workplace romance, ooh hoo). Was married to Alberta for some years and had a couple of twins with her, but they divorced when the twins were two years old. He got custody over them, but they still visit their mom on weekends. Personality is coy and humble, but can be a little sarcastic when he feels comfortable joking around. Is also hard of hearing (~40% deaf in both ears) and wears hearing aids. (The family as a whole recently started taking some ASL lessons in an attempt to make communication easier, with mixed results so far.)

Norm: The boy. An imaginative kid who is also kinda nerdy, but not as smart as he thinks he is. He's recently begun trying to convince everyone that he's some kind of "genius" and acts like he knows everything, often by using big words that he doesn't actually know the meaning of (but they make him feel smart for using them). Frequently makes up his own, often inaccurate explanations for how things work. Wears fake glasses. Some of the younger, more gullible kids at his school buy into his "smart kid" act, but most just think he's condescending and weird (hence why he doesn't have many friends). His grades are pretty average. Thinks his sister is just a big, goofy nincompoop.

Nora: The girl. Very much a tomboy who loves roughhousing with her friends. She's very athletic and competes in both junior hockey & wrestling. Also has a bit of a creative side, and can often be found drawing & making her own picture books. She's actually pretty shy and spends most of her time by herself, but she does have a few friends from sports practice who she likes to hang out with. Also relates well to her step-mom, since she's a fellow athlete. Thinks her brother is strange, but does actually get a lot of inspiration from his pretend "smart-kid" ramblings for her stories & pictures. Also enjoys playing videogames with her dad, brother & step-mom.

Fun fact! Despite being twins, Norm & Nora have different birthdays: Nora was born shortly before midnight on one night, and Norm was born shortly after midnight the next morning. (Of course Norm is jealous that his sister gets to celebrate her birthday one whole day earlier than him, but at least they don't have to compete for the spotlight on the same day!)
