About
Born to Corynacht and a woman she knows nothing about, Corynna was kept out of the hair of her father by placing her into the care of many servants during the time of Decarabian's reign.
One day, when she was a toddler, she was snatched up by her father and brought out of Mondstadt, the harsh winds no longer present thanks to the end of a rebellion. It was at this moment that she would be made into one of Corynacht's first human guinea pigs for his plans.
As a young adult, she disagreed with her father, his beliefs, and his methods -- and was presented with her second true gift from her father: a Vision made for the element he had been creating, Miasmo. The first? She would find out later that she was unable to die, and unable to age thanks to his experiments.
She wandered for over a thousand years before she was approached by Rex Lapis, given a place to stay in Liyue and the promise of his protection. Now, she is a fortuitous scholar who is known quite well for her work and professionalism, going by the name of Johanna Hasenkamp.
Character
Thanks to the thousands of years of being alive, Johanna is a very professional woman whose knowledge is vast. She is very polite and even kindly to those who arrive at her home, with a large room dedicated to her work and research of various matters. She considers her home her place of work, and those who study with her will often find that she is generous in offering food and even shelter should the need arise.
While her lifespan was not without its mistakes and pitfalls, she has climbed from these on her own. As a result, she can be rather self-reliant unless asked to give an ear; she is still working on trying not to be as stubborn, but this proves difficult when certain topics arise.
Under the professional air is a traumatized woman who, while having gone through her troubles on her own, still prefers to hold all of the cards close, her friends closer, and her enemies closer than that.

Story
Old Mondstadt
Born Corynna, her surname lost to history and her desire to prevent ostracization, only ever knowing her father and never her mother due to the latter's death giving birth to her. Her earliest memories were a great number of servants, as well as seeing her father lingering at the door as gales of wind wailed outside. Decarabian's "love" for his people was far too dangerous for even a child, let alone one younger than a toddler.
When she reached toddlerhood, it wasn't too long before the rebellion against Decarabian came to an end, and the inhabitants of Mondstadt were free to begin new lives. Corynacht took his daughter by the hand and, instead of joining the crowds heading in one direction, took another route. No matter how many questions she asked, she would receive no answer...
Until he began to experiment on her.
Corynacht had been plotting for a number of years, and had invented a strange element he only called "Miasmo". His daughter was a perfect test subject for some of his grander ideas -- namely, a way to defy death and become immortal. She'd stopped aging in her 20s, which gave him all the more reason to repeat the same methods on himself.
Despite this fact, she refused to agree with his methods, rightfully trying to tell him that she was deeply hurt for everything he had done to her since childhood. Indeed, she even refused to submit to the ideals he espoused, of the weak serving the strong, of conquerors crushing all opposition in their grasp. Instead of taking her words to heart, he told her to leave, only giving her a Miasmo Vision as the second gift from him in her life.
The Wanderer
Forced to be by herself, Corynna wandered far and wide across Teyvat, searching for a purpose. During the first century, all she could feel was a deep depression that spiraled into alcoholism, shoving too much Mora at taverns and bars in order to drink her fill, until the alcohol could no longer affect her body. After that, she would try everything under the sun just to feel something, learn something, do something.
Around 1800 years before Genshin Impact began, she began to hear rumors about her father cropping up, someone who had waited until after the Archon Wars' conclusion to introduce a new element: Miasmo. Unsure of what else to do, she kept her ear to the ground and kept up with Corynacht after that, until he was frozen in ice.
And after that, she was lost once again.
Daughter of Rex Lapis
After Corynacht was frozen in the ice, she wandered again, coming back to Liyue after a couple of centuries. She was soon summoned to meet with Rex Lapis, who had learned of her existence through the adepti, and wished to see just how loyal she was to her father and his ideals.
He would soon find that she was loyal to none, having no home, and only her life and an unused Miasmo Vision in her possession. Graciously, he gave her a Geo Vision, offering her to stay in Liyue under his protection, as well as giving her a place to call home within the nation. She accepted this, selecting a home for herself and building it as she desired.
She became an esteemed scholar within Liyue, known for chalkboard walls that she personally erased each night. She welcomed those near and far to her home, where she was said to help others in their research or hold extremely long conversations with philosophers until the night fell. Some found themselves guests to the generous woman, who provided food and shelter for them for the night, and who would greet them graciously in the morning.
...it's also said that she's a major sponsor of Dawn Winery, but who knows? Not many have the privilege to know her beyond her work.
Corynacht's Reappearance
It was several centuries after this point, in which she became an established presence in Liyue, that she caught wind of rumors. Namely, rumors about the return of Corynacht, in the form of a young man who almost looked like him asking questions.
Too many questions, actually. Namely about Corynacht, the so-called "Forgotten God".
Pair that with the presence of Khaenri'ah that she'd begun to find within Corynacht's activities, it became clear that the young man and his traveling companion would spell trouble if their motives were as dark as her father's. She would test the waters first, of course, sending a letter that would reach their hands swiftly...

Relationships
Diluc Ragnvindr
Being a large sponsor of Dawn Winery, it wasn't too unexpected that the current owner would begin to correspond with the generous Scholar through letters. Eventually, it crossed from professional to personal, with the two finding that they enjoyed the other's company even on paper. Johanna specifically found Diluc to be a clever and intelligent man, whose desire for good to triumph over evil reflected her own desires to better the world.
Their first physical meeting would take place as Coryn is traveling Teyvat, especially since she figured that his trail started in Mondstadt. After confirming that Coryn wasn't her father "reborn", she wrote a letter to Diluc explaining the encounter and expressing a desire to meet face-to-face, to get further opinions on Coryn specifically.
Having known each other through letters for many years, there was already a fondness present between the two, but it was after this first meeting that the two began to spend time together. Johanna found that Diluc brought out something in her that she'd thought was lost to the sands of time: humanity. Specifically, the reckless and fiery parts of the human psyche, the part that drove Diluc to fighting real-world monsters and inner demons, even while balancing Dawn Winery's responsibilities. The inferno that burned in his eyes was something that she further adored.
Zhongli
After Corynacht was sealed away in ice, Rex Lapis soon discovered the presence of a Miasmo Vision near Liyue. Concerned, he'd searched until he found the wandering Corynna, realizing quickly that she had never used the strange Vision, only keeping it on her person; even watching her in combat, she refused to draw on the Vision's powers, even to attempt gaining the upper hand.
He approached her, sitting down with her to listen to her story. Finding her sincere, he offered a contract to her: in exchange for her helping others in Liyue with her vast amounts of knowledge, Rex Lapis would allow her to make a home in the country and protect her. She accepted the contract, and was given a Geo Vision from the archon, a gift that she could use to further aid others. She promptly found a place to call home, renovating it to her desires before allowing others to come to her.
The relationship between Rex Lapis and Johanna is similar to that of a man and his adopted adult daughter; the two can spend many hours in discussion over various things, although there is a distance ever-present due to his status as archon. After he'd faked his death, she had figured out quickly what his plans were, throwing on an act of mourning and taking several days aside to assist the act. While she did not entirely agree with his methods, she understands his motives, and had prepared some of the Mora she'd been earning to make a private fund for him. "Even man needs Mora to live well, don't you think?"
When it came to Coryn's presence in Teyvat, Zhongli advised her to speak with Coryn about Liyue's traditions, knowing that Johanna would attempt to find some way to confirm that Coryn was/n't Corynacht reborn. It would be this advice that led Johanna to figuring out that Coryn was honest about being from another world, coincidentially similar to her father but not being so at all.
Coryn Taylor
While initially worried about the rumors of Corynacht reborn, she would speak to Coryn and Kaeya regarding these rumors and eventually confirm that they weren't involved with her father at all. After that, she would take a more friendly approach with the two, getting to know them properly.
For Coryn specifically, she finds that he is more similar to herself than he is to Corynacht; they share many points of morality, tastes, and even emotional reactions. Over time, she would begin to see him like a brother, albeit one that had plunged into her life from another world.
Kaeya Alberich
While initially worried about the rumors of Corynacht reborn, she would speak to Coryn and Kaeya regarding these rumors and eventually confirm that they weren't involved with her father at all. After that, she would take a more friendly approach with the two, getting to know them properly.
For Kaeya specifically, she doesn't entirely agree with his "ends justifies the means" mentality, but understands where it may come from. Knowing that he is from Khaenri'ah, she nonetheless keeps herself quiet on the connection that Kaeya has with the fallen nation, observing him if only to make sure that he doesn't entangle himself into Khaenri'ah's hands further than he already is.
Corynacht
Her father was often absent in her early life, and had relied on servants to raise her until she became a toddler, when he'd taken her from Old Mondstadt and began to experiment on her. With the results she gave being so successful, he'd given himself the same treatment, although was disappointed to find that she did not share his ideals when she'd reached adulthood. After a long argument, he'd given her a Miasmo Vision before leaving her to her own devices, knowing that she could survive.
Johanna has a lot of mixed feelings about Corynacht, with "love" being the furthest thing from it. She hates the man he'd become, and barely knew the man he'd been before turning to Miasmo, and often finds herself at a loss when trying to process his actions and motives. She recognizes that she'd turned out a lot better than her father's actions should have, but attributes it from taking from her unknown mother rather than her father in personality and demeanor.
She still keeps the Miasmo Vision that he'd given her. While she's come close to smashing it, she claims that something holds her back, and is visibly frustrated over it.
