Gem is my unlucky boi. He's a high elf arcane archer who's almost died more times out of battle because of the absurd amount of nat1's he's rolled out of combat. From freezing in a blizzard to almost walking off a cliff, he's only survived because his party has his back.
In game, he got booted from his family after accidentally destroying part of their manor for well, the last time. (idk how many times he did canonically)
