• Relationship with Janine:

Much like Janine deeply admired her own father growing up, Chiyo greatly admires Janine, aspiring to be a strong trainer and ninja like her one day. The two are close, often training together, and once Chiyo is old enough, Janine gives her small duties around the gym to help with.

• Relationship with Elaine:

While Chiyo may not have an much in common with Elaine, the two are still close, having a fairly typical mother/daughter bond. Knowing how duty bound Chiyo is, Elaine is the parent who goes out of her way to make sure her daughter is still enjoying herself, reminding her that she's still young, it's okay to go out and just have fun. Her family (and the clan) will still be right here, supporting her regardless.

• Relationship with Koga:

Her grandfather who she greatly admires. While Koga isn't as spry as he use to be, he's still a powerful trainer in his own right. He's retired from his duties as a member of the Elite 4, spending more time running the affairs of the Abe clan, which lets him spend more time in Fuchsia as a result. He enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, both helping he train but also just doing mundane things with her.

 Personality

• Energetic: Chiyo is a very high energy individual, always either on the go or spending time training. She likes to be active, so even when she's relaxing, she'd rather be spending time outside than chilling at home.
• Outgoing: Chiyo likes to interact with people and Pokemon, enjoying being in a crowd over being alone. If not with her friends and family, she typically spends time training with some of the other clan members from the branch families.
• Blunt: Chiyo doesn't always think before she speaks, which means she has the habit of sometimes comeng across as rude without necessarily meaning to be. She speaks her mind, which due to her high standards, isn't always flattering towards others.
• Proud: Chiyo feels strongly about her ninja heritage, being proud to be a part of the Abe clan. She strives to impress both her father and grandfather with he abilities, both in the art of ninjutsu and as a trainer, wanting them to be proud of her.
• Flirty: As her clothing choices probably indicate, Chiyo is a bit on the flirty side. Nothing too over the top, since she doesn't want to bring shame to her family, but she enjoys the occasional pick up line thrown at a pretty face. She also enjoys being admired for her good looks, thus the way she dresses.

 Trivia

• - Her name, Chiyo, is a Japanese name meaning "one thousand generations." She's named as a reference to Mochizuki Chiyome, one of the famous kunoichi of legends, credited as one fo the first female ninjas. This mathces how both Janine and Koga have names with some sort of reference to ninjutsu.
• - Her surname, Abe, is a common Japanese surname, one of the oldest of the major Japanese clans. As a family of ninjas, they aren't a ruling clan (thus no city surname like the Blackthorns), as they're measnt to protect the ruling clans from the background.
• - While she's old enough to take over the Fuchsia Gym, Janine isn't quite ready to hand over the title to her, so Chiyo remains a Gym Assitant of sorts. She's helps around the Gym while also training to one day take it over.
• - Given that Janine is from a traditional clan, an arranged (omiai) marriage of sorts would have been expected for her. As such, Chiyo's parents getting together was unexpected, the two meeting and falling in love, while Janine fretted about what her father would think about her falling for someone completely different while he'd been trying to matchmake for her. Ultimately, as all Koga wished for was his daughters happiness, the two are able to get together without any drama. Chiyo is born not long after her parents are married, as her mother was a couple months pregnant with her during the wedding.
