About
A somewhat strange gem, Malachite is one of the few that can survive a prolongued period of time underwater due to an ample defense mechanism. Mala produces a toxin while in the water, keeping them energized in deep water for longer than the average gem. However, they are toxic to the touch when wet, they must cover their arms and legs during and after work. Their weird sense of humor is somewhat offputting, but they're well-liked by their peers. They also try to avert any sort of drama, often finding ways to subtly escape nerve-wracking situations.

Story
Backstory
It was difficult to find a proper job for Mala at first, since they're brittle. Never having a knack for battle, but a thirst for knowledge, they were assigned to research for the encyclopedia at first. After an accidental fall into the ocean, they discovered that they're able to survive longer periods of time in it, so they were reassigned to discover the mysteries of the undiscovered sea. After years of this, they discovered a missing gem laying in the sand and carefully took them back. This gem was later identified as Selenite.
Current
They continue with their research, but also tries to pry into Selenite's reasoning for going into the ocean. Being younger than the missing gem, they had a lot of questions about the past and Sele's motives.
Trivia
- Mala has an affinity for knowledge of the unknown.
- They love cute things!
- Their powder is extremely toxic to the touch as well, so if they were to be injured, they'd need immediate medical attention as to not harm anyone.
- They were carved from the same stone as Azurite, hence the matching eyes.
