"Silence is full of answers."

Before Noelani met Sterling, she had spent the majority of her life alone, misunderstood, and feeling generally very unloved. She couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, why she couldn't connect to others, why she didn't have any friends, and she wondered if she would just have to learn to be alone for the remainder of her life. She had many sleepless nights churning it over and over in her head, and many others still where her tears dried themselves as she fell asleep. She was so lonely for many years. She knew she had good friends, a beautiful life, and a wonderful world to live in, but she felt she had no one to experience it with. She just wanted someone who understood her.

Sterling

When Sterling (quite literally) fell into Noelani's life, she had resolved to live her life in solitude. She had everything she needed outside of herself, and despite her emotional turmoil, she knew she had much to be thankful for. She had all but given up on finding someone who could love and understand her in the way she wanted. She felt it was impossible. So when this star-studded, blue and gold beauty fell out of nowhere onto her beach one day, limping up to her covered in sand and smiling so happily at her, she was ready and willing to help him recover from his sprained leg, but she hadn't been prepared for him to heal her of her broken heart.

Learning to Love

It still took Noelani a long time to trust Sterling. She didn't know what to think of him at first - a pretty boy falls out of the sky, all smiles and starlight, and she's just supposed to fall for his good looks and charm just like that? No way. It can't be that easy. She pushed away his advances for the longest time, even after his leg was healed and he didn't have to stay on the ground anymore. He did go home, but he came back. And then he came back again. And again. And again, and again, and again. He wouldn't leave her alone. At the end of it all, Noelani couldn't fight him anymore. She had developed the biggest crush on this boy in their time together, and if he was insistent on being with her so often, she might as well let him stay. Heck, she wanted him to stay. She didn't know if she could find the love she'd been looking for with Sterling, but she knew that she liked him a lot. So she let him into her life. And every day since then, he has proved to her, more than she could have ever fathomed, how much love her heart can take as well as just how much it can give. Which is a lot, both ways, by the way.
