Surya is the beloved king of a small but wealthy country with a rich culture and history. He presents himself as a serious person and has a facade/persona of being the ideal king to the point of potentially overworking himself. His entire life has been preparation for the throne and now that he finally has it, he's strict with himself and others, and only occasionally lets his guard down and lets loose. In private he's warmer and can afford to let their sense of humour show through. It's not often witnessed at all, but he has a bit of a bastard streak, as is typical of royalty. Overall, you could say they're straddling the line between decadent richboy and wise ruler, but definitely leaning towards the latter. 

Personality-wise, he's bright and sharp like the sun: intense, intelligent, dramatic, and charismatic. He can be vain, and rightfully so! He takes pride in his appearance and takes very good care of himself, especially his long hair. Though they'd never actually go out and admit it due to their strong sense of dignity, he loves being worshipped.

He has an intense connection to the sun, which he draws his light and fire manipulation powers from. Their conjured light and fire are always a beautiful golden colour. Not only does he have solar powers, but he's also solar powered: he totally thrives in the summer and loves the heat. He loves sunbathing as well, but is often embarrassed if people see because it usually means he's neglecting some important kingly duty. If he wasn't so busy, he could spend hours at a time basking in the light and heat, and they relish the chances they get to be at one with the sun like that. Another sun-adjacent fact about them is that his body temperature runs a few degrees centigrade hotter than a regular human's. 

He is married to Yang Hui, the prince of a neighbouring country. Their marriage has brought about a political union and prosperity for the two nations. It's not uncommon for one of them to be at the other's palace, and the two of them are very happy together. They are very much a radiant power couple, and enjoy showing off their countries' wealth and natural beauty to each other - when they're not at home, they're travelling. 

Some miscellaneous tidbits about him that I don't know where to fit in are that the liquid whites of his eyes evaporate after dripping down, and that mango is one of his favourite foods. Also, I'm completely in love with him.
