Yang Hui $70

Yang Hui is the prince of a large, wealthy country with a lot of natural beauty and global influence. His parents, the king and queen, are still alive but most of the responsibility of ruling the kingdom is on him because they're old and have essentially "retired". His duties are immense and he upholds them perfectly - he's a very calculated and intelligent person.

With all the sun iconography associated with him, one would assume he has a connection to the sun and powers to match, but that isn't true. He's actually connected to the moon, and can summon and manipulate moonlight and cold fire. He feels most energized and active at night, when his powers are strongest. The explanation behind this disrepancy is rather messy: he had an older twin brother with sun powers who was meant to be the heir to the throne but died when he was 12, so his parents and their advisors just replaced him because the young prince was exceptionally popular. Also, because royals are fucked up. 

As a child, Yang Hui was always overshadowed by his brother, who he loved and respected (but was also very jealous of), to the point of being entirely forgettable to the public. He has a very complicated relationship with his parents, where he resents them for not treating him like his own person, but also recognizes that if they didn't pull all that shit he would probably be a royal nobody. He has a complex about living in the shadow of someone long-dead and wants to prove himself to be the rightful heir on his own merits. As such, he is always wearing his crown - it's a symbol of his worth to him. So far, he's been very successful: he's just as popular as his late brother, if not more. All that being said, it's a given that he's extremely good at acting and very charismatic. He craves and thrives off of the attention he receives. 

He is married to Surya, the king of a neighbouring country. Their marriage has brought about a political union and even more prosperity for the two nations. It's not uncommon for one of them to be at the other's palace, and the two of them are very happy together. They are very much a radiant power couple, and enjoy showing off their countries' wealth and natural beauty to each other - when they're not at home, they're travelling. Yang Hui in particular loves seeing the ocean. 

Yang Hui (written 陽輝) was his brother's name - the characters mean sun and brilliance/glory. His given name was Ying Yue, written 瑩月. The characters there mean bright/lustrous and moon. His preferred name is Yue (月: moon), since the 瑩 feels too feminine. Only very trusted people (like Surya) call him by his real name. 

He has few friends because of his trust issues, and also has identity issues where he's not sure exactly who he's meant to be and feels like his original personality was lost. His relationship with Surya has helped him be more comfortable with who he is and who he's become.
