Personality · · ·

Joey is very unexpressive and nervous due to the amount of rejection he has endured. He prefers to just stay in the background and will remove himself from the situation all together if he doesn't feel wanted. He worries about upsetting people and is a bit of a doormat. Has trouble telling people no and let's people do whatever they want in the hopes that maybe someone will give him a chance. When he's with people he's close with, he can be a bit of a dork, but will do anything to help his friends and make them happy.

 Positive Trait

Kind and compassionate if you get to know him. He cares deeply about his friends and family and actively goes out of his way to compliment and care for them.

 Negative Trait

Bottles his emotions and is terrified of opening up to anyone. Without knowing why he acts the way he does some people may think he's either cold and uncaring or a bit aloof.

+ POSITIVE Trait

Great at drawing.

- NeGATIVE Trait

Blames himself for everything. Thinks he deserves all the bad things that happened to him.

If I couldn't take care of the studio, then how on earth do you think I'll be able to take care of myself?

Trivia · · ·

Hair is actually not dark brown. His original hair color was light brown with blonde specs, but his hair went gray at age 45 due to extreme stress. He's been dyeing his hair ever since.
Very good with axes. He has a 100% accurate aim when he throws an axe.
He did a Karate class with Henry and is very good at self defense.
The only coffee he refuses to drink is decaf. He refuses to drink it because one of his employees dumped scalding hot decaf on his face just to spite him.
The record for cups of coffee drank in a day is 100. Yikes.
Purposefully sabotages his own life. By his logic, if so much in his life has gone wrong, he needs to sabotage himself, or else someone else will do it for him. But way worse.

Backstory · · ·  (TW: Slight Mention of Suicide)

To say that Joey Drew is down on his luck is a huge understatement. Joey grew up in long line of doctors. Joey's great grandpa once had a best friend, but he sadly passed away with his grandpa being unable to save him. His grandpa took his own life as a result and his wife decided that making relationships with people was a waste of time, as when they passed away, it'd only hurt more. So she stopped her children from making friends or doing anything that didn't relate to being a doctor. This ideal carried down to each generation, and his parents still followed this rule when Joey was born. Joey was born to Joseph and Dorothy Drew. Joey was an energetic child, loving to watch his favorite cartoons and loved to draw. However, his parents despised his love for art. They often ripped up his drawings and forced him to start preparing for being a doctor. In Kindergarten, Joey made a friend and was really excited about it. Joey went home to go tell his parents the good news, but they were outraged. They moved Joey out of the state, telling Joey that making relationships was a waste of time. When Joey got to his new school, his parents didn't allow him to participate in group projects and didn't allow him to talk to anyone either. This crushed Joey, causing him to get very depressed and making him seem cold and distant. People at his school took this to their advantage, bullying him for being quiet and for being distant. Joey told his parents about the bullying, but they told Joey to just suck it up. So Joey did. All through grade school and high school, he never spoke a word to anyone, not even the teachers. All he did was focus on studying and making his parents proud of him for once. However, once Joey's parents forced him to go to medical school, everything changed. One day, Joey was being teased by a group of kids, however another kid defended him and got the bullies to leave him alone. Joey got assigned to the same dorm as the kid, and found out that his name was Henry. The two didn't get along at first. Joey thought Henry was too lazy as he didn't study 24/7, while Henry tried urging Joey to take a break. One day, Joey broke down in tears in front of Henry, as the stress of his parents' expectations and getting good grades broke him. He tells Henry about his family's family motto and what his parents put him through as a child. Henry took sympathy on Joey and helped him study, but also helped Joey chill out quite a bit. Henry made Joey a drawing of a character named Bendy as a gift, since he knew that Joey liked art. Joey loved it, and Henry designed Boris and Alice for Joey as well. Henry and Joey passed medical school with exceptional grades and the both of them became doctors. However, being a doctor wasn't good on Joey's mental health, as whenever a patient died, Joey blamed himself for it, and he lost confidence in himself and it made him a lot more stressed and nervous. Henry convinces Joey to follow his passions and start up an animation studio. Joey agrees and tells his parents the idea, only for them to kick him out of their home. Joey goes to live with Henry and his parents as he starts the studio up. Henry lets Joey use the designs for Bendy, Boris, and Alice for his studio. He insists that Joey doesn't need to credit him, however Joey credits Henry for the creation of their designs anyway. Joey opened the studio and hired just about everyone, even if they weren't suitable for the job, because he was too scared to tell anyone no. One day, a man named Thomas Connor applies for a job, and Henry tells Joey not to hire him. Joey listens but other people who applied for that same role mysteriously disappeared, so Henry tells Joey that he can hire him. Thomas is hired and he creates the ink machine. Joey creates Bendy and the two really get along, Joey acting as a father figure for Bendy and making sure to keep him safe. One day Bendy gets in a stage accident and breaks his leg. So in turn, Joey creates a stunt double for Bendy and names him Alpha. Joey treats Alpha as his son as well, but the two didn't exactly see eye to eye, and the two of them would often get in arguments and say really nasty things to each other. Joey tries to work on himself so he and Alpha can have a better relationship. Not to mention, some of Joey's employees found out about Joey's relationship with his parents and started mocking him about it. Joey tried to have good relationships with all his employees, but they didn't want to. They found Joey way to weird and awkward for their liking, even though Joey's awkwardness stemmed from his lack of social skills. Joey's studio becomes successful and Joey wants to reconnect with his parents, thinking they'll be proud of them. He sends them a letter, but gets a response back saying they were disowning him. To add salt to the wound, they filed restraining orders so that Joey could never go and see them. Joey was crushed and that lead him down a downward spiral as Joey picked up unhealthy coping mechanisms and started surrounding himself with only work, stressing him out greatly. However one day, Joey meets a kid named Buddy Lewek. His mom wants him to work at the studio for the summer, and Joey takes him in. He sees Buddy as a third son and Buddy sees Joey as a dad. But despite this, Buddy didn't last very long. Joey threw a birthday party for Buddy, but Buddy had to leave early. There was a crash and Joey went to see what was happening, only to find Buddy's body. Dead. Soon, more of his employees started turning up dead. Joey sends Bendy with Tom and puts Alpha in a room with a ton of supplies to keep them safe. Joey tells his remaining employees to evacuate the studio, but none of them listen. Joey find Shawn Flynn and the two team up to figure out why people were dying. They found out the hard way. Joey was forced to watch Shawn die to the hands of a tall, lanky Ink Demon (Inky). Joey decided that he was going to stop the Ink Demon but was unable to. For two years he dedicated himself to defeat the Ink Demon. He finds a soul in Thomas' office and decides to use it on Inky. He gives Inky a soul and realizes that Inky had his soul taken out. He tries comforting Inky, but he runs off. Joey then goes to get Bendy from Thomas, but figures out that Thomas had been torturing poor Bendy. Desperate, Joey creates Nightmare to go save Bendy. She refuses to do so, so Joey creates Shadow to save Bendy. Shadow agrees and he goes to save Bendy. Joey finds a safe place to stay but never heard back from Shadow. However one day, the toon Alice knocks on Joey's door, carrying a badly injured Shadow. Bendy had nearly killed him. Joey saves Shadow but his will is shattered. Joey, Shadow, and Alice stay alone at the safehouse until Alpha and his friends come to the safehouse. Joey felt awful about leaving Alpha in that room, as he'd forgotten he left Alpha there. Joey tried to make up with Alpha but is pushed away. The safehouse gets attacked and Joey receives the news that Broken had died. Joey is saddened, but decides to stay at the safehouse when Shadow, Inky, Nightmare, and Alpha go to look for their missing friends, as he feels like he'd only hold the mission back. A few hours later, Inky bursts through the door holding a gravely injured Alpha. Joey helps save Alpha's life but watches Nightmare die. Alpha wakes up and yells at Joey for everything he did, but ultimately decides to take Joey with them while they leave the studio. They have a final confrontation with Thomas, and they save Bendy. Joey takes Inky, Alpha, and Bendy to his old house and reconnects with Henry. Joey strives to take care of everyone in the house but fails to take care of himself or let anyone help him which leads to him having a heart attack. Henry finds him and Bendy proposes that they bring Joey to the machine and he is revived as a toon. Currently Joey is trying to process and get over his grief about his loved ones dying and being a toon.

Toon Joey's Abilities...

-Whenever he swears, a censor bar will appear over his mouth and you will hear a cartoonish censor sound. Sounds include: A fire alarm, duck quack, car horn, cat's meow, and a standard censor noise.
-His tail can open up like a Venus flytrap and attack people

-He can regenerate his wounds. However, if you destroy his body he will not be able to regenerate.

- If he gets too stressed, he can turn into a cat. His limbs get softer and shorter like a cats, and he mentally becomes a cat.
