Kuma

Mufasa and Sarabi’s oldest child, born just before his twin brother Simba. Traditionally, the firstborn cub of the monarchs is the one destined to become the next ruler of the Pride Lands. This would have been true for Kuma, as he is the firstborn son. However, he makes the decision not to be King, wanting to live his life in the way that he chooses rather than giving in to tradition. His parents are understanding of their son’s wishes - though they are reluctant at first - and agree to let him go down his own path, therefore giving the position of the future King to their secondborn cub instead. This way, Simba grows up as Mufasa’s heir rather than Kuma, despite being the younger of the twins.

Personality: Full of courage, has a big heart, and is concerned more with the well-being of everyone else instead of himself.
