- Kahlja is believed to have reborn thrice. The first two were female, his third incarnation male. Despite this, he uses male pronouns and identifies predominantly as male.

Kahlja sports the trademark black scales, a thick black tail, and hardened black claw-like nails. When casting magic of either black or white aspected aether, the crevices in his horns take on a very minute glow.
For an Au Ra, Kahlja is fairly on the short side. Most Xaela males range anywhere from between 6’7” - 7’1” on average, though some have been known to be taller or, even rarer, much shorter. This is generally due to a mixing of races when procreating, although such is not the case with Kahlja.
Written in a hastened scrawl, the following words could be found in a small journal; there are no dates, but the signatures in which the entries are closed seem to differ.

It is said, to be Dotharl, one must prove themselves in battle. To shine as bright as the sun, and to die with just as much glory; so that, if given the chance, your tribe will know you once more when you are reborn. Some warriors have returned to us countless times… some, never to be seen again. Does this mean we shall never find rest? Is our destiny to live and die by our blades, for the greater glory of the Dotharl?

I am… undecided in my future. I wear this name, given unto me by my elders as they glimpsed a spark of their sister long passed. There is a fire burning within my heart, deep within my soul; but is it my own? Am I truly my own person, or am I simply a vessel for a greater warrior?

I have decided that I will take my leave of this place. There are many who dislike my idea, but I must find the answers that I seek. The elements within my mind are conflicting, and I feel as though a phantom presence exists within. To say that I am terrified is an understatement; but I am also curious. I have decided that I will journey to Eorzea, and drink of the wealth the realm has to offer. Surely I will find something- or someone- who can aid me.
