Malwitzer

History

Malwitzer was created in a laboratory deep underground. He was made to test DNA splicing and was made using the DNA of several bugs and lizards, most notably a spider and pillbug. Malwitzer was deemed a success by his creators and was raised like any other pet. As he grew up his creators could not keep him, as their lab lost funding. They had to decide between killing Malwitzer and sending him to live alone. In the end they chose to send him to an isolated tropical island with no inhabitants other than the other animals there.

Personality

Despite being an animal Malwitzer shows a lot of character. Mentally Malwitzer shows the intelligence level of a very smart golden retriever dog; he can learn tricks, knows his name, and can solve simple puzzles. He has high empathy for other living things, which is why he prefers to eat fruits. Being on the same level as a dog intelligence-wise has its downsides however. Malwitzer cannot comprehend full sentences or statements, and is restricted to phrases like "sit" and "roll over". He cannot understand human technology like cars or planes. He also cannot speak, and communicates through different squeaks and chirps in different tones and pitches.

Biology

Malwitzer shares many traits with the animals he was spliced with. One of his more notable features is he can roll up in a ball like a pillbug, and roll around while in this state like an armadillo. Being spliced with a spider (specifically just a common household spider) also gives him enhanced sight due to his 8 eyes, and increased speed with his 8 legs. However he did not inherit the ability to spin webs. Malwitzer, spliced with an armadillo and pill bug, also inherited the armor of those two. The armor is just as strong as a normal armadillo's. Being mostly lizard also gave him the ability to cut off his tail at will, although this is an essentially useless feature because of how short his tail is. Because he is a lab experiment and was never intended to breed, Malwitzer has no reproductive organs. He technically has no gender, but was only assigned male by the scientists in the lab.
