FEATURES & TRAITS

Darkvision - Thanks to your elf blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry - You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Change of Heart - You have learned to use your words and body language to appear unthreatening. Creatures that you have fooled by a successful Charisma (Deception) check within the last minute have disadvantage on initiative rolls to join combat against you.

Knife in the Back - If a creature you've successfully deceived rolls initiative against you, you may roll initiative at disadvantage and the creature can't take reactions until after its first turn.

Liar's Liar - You may cast Calm Emotions with a save DC equal to 8+your Deception bonus. Alternatively, you may reroll a failed deception check that you've made. After using either option, you must finish a long rest to use this feature again.

Form of Dread - You manifest an aspect of your patron’s dreadful power. As a bonus action, you transform for 1 minute. You gain the following benefits while transformed: You gain temporary hit points equal to 1d10 + your warlock level. Once during each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw, and if the saving throw fails, the target is frightened of you until the end of your next turn. You are immune to the frightened condition. You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Agonizing Blast - When you cast eldritch blast, add your Charisma modifier to the damage it deals on a hit.

Armor of Shadows - You can cast mage armor on yourself at will, without expending a spell slot or material components.

BACKSTORY

They started small, innocent. Whispers that were mostly unintelligible. It was easy enough to ignore, easy enough to go about daily life, and try to fit in with the other children. Pretty quickly, Nadine realized that no one else was hearing the things she did. It was ostracizing. Distracting. And Nadine learned to hide this fact from others, especially her father. The one time she had tried to confide in him, he brushed her off and said it was her imagination. Nadine never brought it up again.

As years went on, the voices became louder and less easy to ignore. Each voice felt like a weight on her shoulders, like an ever present itch that couldn't be scratched and it was maddening. As such, as those years passed, it became more and more and more appealing to do what the voices wanted in hopes of making them go quiet. It was much easier now to understand what the voices were telling her and they weren't nearly as innocent as they had been in her youngest years. They scared her and when her father passed away, the loneliness outside of her head caught up with her.

Again, it started small and Nadine tried to placate the voices with things that were not truly harmful. She broke things in her house until there was nothing left to break. It was satisfying, but not nearly what was needed to make things quiet. Sure, breaking things was fun, but it wasn't the same as breaking things that could feel that they were being broken

. Nadine knew what the voices wanted her to do, but she never could go so far. There were times she thought she might. There were times she crossed paths with someone who could be an easy target. No, you can't. They might have a family. There are people who probably love them. Someone will miss them. And eventually, the stress became too much.

After a week or so, neighbors began to become worried that they hadn't seen Nadine outside in a while. Concerned for her well-being, they made a house visit to check on her. It was a surprise to find the house in total disarray and Nadine curled into a corner with her hands cupped tightly over her ears.

Shortly after, Nadine was admitted into an asylum. And for the most part, after a while, the voices went away. All for one. This voice was different. It felt like this voice was actually in her head, as opposed to the other voices that seemed like they were speaking around her. This voice was much different. It didn't ask her to hurt anyone, or to break things, or to steal. It was different. For this reason, Nadine found herself more willing to trust it. She was more willing to listen. So when the voice told her she needed to escape the asylum, Nadine didn't feel the need to ignore it. She spent months planning the escape and on a quiet, but stormy night, Nadine was able to break herself out.
