Hawthorne

Hawthorne steps onto the beach ignoring the harsh storm winds that threaten to knock him over. He stops near the edge of the water and begins hollering into the sea. "Come out! I'm ready to fight!" He pauses listening for any response, and calls out again. "Come out you coward and fight me!" The water shifts as a green shape rises to the surface and moves closer. Hawthorne readied himself, claws digging into the wet sand. His scars showed this wasn't his first battle. Hawthorne was a fishing/trade/pirate captain sailing the seas with his finest crew until one day a trade mission sent them into the territory of a beast known as Rokovoko. Rokovoko enraged by their intrusion quickly sank the ship and killed all of the crew while Hawthorne could only watch in horror as he narrowly escaped. Swimming to an abandoned house on an island nearby, Hawthorn found shelter and safety that quickly became a prison. Now the anger trauma and grief will not let him leave this island until he can finally kill Rokovoko. Despite many attempts to do this, Hawthorn always loses and ends up badly injured, but still he persists growing more and more bitter each battle. Plenty of other captains have arrived to the island to try and save him but he makes them leave. "My business isn't done until that thing is dead!"
