Ate his devil fruit while in the marines, unaware of what it was. It makes moving arrow marks appear on his skin that point to the origin point of any object, but he has to lick it. He didn't know this for a while and thought he had to actually eat it. When he isn't tracking an object, the arrows point towards the north.
