Jabali didn't get to where he is now by letting his past define him. He wanted to make a name for himself, not let his ancestor determine who he was or who he was going to be. The curse he bore did not define him. Neither does the blessing he wears either, for that matter. It is simply a reaction. He is earnest and humble. He is but one lion doing what he can for others. He is also brave and courageous. Sometimes a little too much. He is bold and on occasion takes reckless risks. In some cases, he's impulsive. He tries to be the hero. Not for his own benefit, but for those around him. If he can help, he will. In any way. Regardless of the consequence to himself. It was really a double-edged sword. Hopefully he would be smart about things lest it lead to unfortunate fate.

Jabali means a man who is strong as a rock. His bloodline was cursed due to an unnecessary massacre one of his ancestors committed. Despite the curse, his parents had wanted to give him a clean slate. They wanted to give him a name to live up to. Even as a cub he was brave. He wanted to do the right things. He grew into his name. He had shown not only physical strength but strength of heart during an attack on his pride. For this, he was awarded a blessed marking. The golden mask on his face. While rock can be eroded, it can also be shaped. This was his decision. To let others erode him into what they wanted or for him to mold himself into who he wanted to be.
