Sayyid means lord, master in Arabic. Sayyid is a demi-god. His mother, a cheetah queen was approached by a lion god and he was the result. Not only being of royal blood but also that of divine blood, his mother gave him the name that would be fitting. While he is technically a prince, his step-father would never allow his "tainted blood" to hold the throne and essentially cast him out. Regardless, he wanted nothing to do with the burden of ruling. His name reminds him of his mothers caring heart, how she only wanted what was best for him.
