Kobe means tortoise. A rather strange name regardless how you look at it. He's obviously not a tortoise. He doesn't look like one or act like one. He's not particularly slow. But let me explain. His parents were part of a small pride that picked names based on morals. They were fairly fond of The Tortoise And The Hare story. When they had him, they hoped to remind him of the story. Be like the tortoise and take things slow. Take time to do things right and you'll get it done. Sure it was fine to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, but if you took thinks one step at a time you could achieve anything. That's all they ever wanted for him: to reach any goal he set his mind to. It's been years since he's been back there but he's never forgotten the story associated with his name.
