Ibabi

Ibabi is the Amharic word for snake. Like some of the others in Pekee Pamoja that came from a different world, his name is almost literal. He looks very much like a snake and was named as such. At first, it was just that: a name representing his appearance. However, as he got older he was practically shunned for it. He was distrusted and many were weary around him. Put off by the action and behavior of others, his attitude changed. If they believed him to be a snake, then a snake he would be. Not just in his look. He was secretive. Cunning. Perhaps it would not always be that way for him, but until things changed he would stick to the role that was thrust upon him. Maybe someday he will move beyond this pettiness and be the lion he could have been before the push into this sneaky snake.
