I-01 :: Who I Am

...

I-03 :: All In The Past

'iilah alkhalq was created alongside 'iilhat aldamar in what is known as The Void. He is her counterbalance- her other half. He is to represent positive energy, life, and creation while she is representative of negative energy, death, and destruction. It took several long years for them to find the balance between them, to use their powers in tandem instead of against one another. When they found their cooperation scale leveled, they came together to work on a project: creating lions. It was a successful product with their creation showing signs of both deities. Positive and negative energies to be found in varying amounts in every lion. They were all different in their own way. As time went on, the creations took more to him and his deeds; praising creation and life and positive energy flow in the world while Suha and her traits- negativity, death, destruction- were pushed aside and labeled as evil. Akbar was worried about her seeing how much this effected her. She deserved their love as well. It had been a joint effort and her abilities were needed. But he couldn't just appear to the lions. While he tried to convince her to stay, he watched as she returned to the void- her powers and their influence going with her.

Without Suha's presence, life grew rapidly. The lions were pleased. Crops grew in abundance, cubs were plentiful, life seemed stuck in an endless loop for those older lions who didn't get sick or feel the pressure of age. With no threat of decay, everyone was in high spirits. Akbar would sometimes think about fetching Suha but remembered how she had brushed him off last time he tried convincing her to stay. Eventually, the lions began to realize their mistake. There was too much life. There wasn't a balance. Grateful they had figured it out for themselves that they needed the other side of the coin, he practically begged Suha to return. He told her how the lions were struggling with their choices and wanted to atone. He told her that they needed her. A bit reluctant, she agreed and joined him back in the mortal plane to let her influence balance out the chaos that was unleashed in her absence. It had taken sometime for the balance to return but Akbar was grateful that their creation, while had a few stumbles, was definitely a successful one and that Suha would be there by his side.

I-04 :: Work, Work, Work

'iilah alkhalq (god of creation) is his official title, but he is classified as a deity. Like Suha, this was not a role given by the pride itself but rather by destiny or fate. As 'iilah alkhalq he is in charge of the cheerful side of life. Akbar is a force of creation. Since he is the counterbalance to death, he brings life and finds ways to sustain it. Growth, change, birth, and rebirth are all things he oversees. These things were decided and instilled in him when he was created. The void made him to be this way. Something else that he is in charge of is blessings and occasionally magical abilities.

It is unknown why he was chosen for these abilities and not given destruction but there's now way to know or tell. The void just exists and therefore cannot be questioned. Akbar never had problems with his abilities but did struggle with feeling overwhelmed when Suha had retreated to the void early on in their lives. He is a god and, when he does visit the mortal plane, is given respect. There was one instance when the pride had been visited by him and Suha, but other than that there is few instances of his influence in the pride. Jabali does carry a blessing on his face as a balance to the curse he bears on his flank (as Akbar is Suha's equal and cannot undo her work, simply do his own). Aiysha may not be the one he worked on but her markings are similar to her ancestor Akisha who was granted new fur that defined her sacrifice in time of crisis. He is often given praise during the ceremony that celebrates the new cubs and sometimes during bonding ceremonies. Usually to give thanks for bringing life and love.

I-07 :: What's In A Name

Akbar means greater, greatest in Arabic. This was not, however, his chosen name. He was instead known as 'iilah alkhalq which literally translates to "god of creation" in Arabic. Akbar was given later by the lions he and Suha had created. As he was the 'iilah alkhalq who brought them life and growth, they called him great. Beyond that, they would compare him to Suha by calling him the greater god or the greatest god. While he wasn't really fond of the true meaning behind it, there was a part of him that relished the thought his creations found him great.
