'iilhat aldamar along with 'iilah alkhalq were created from what is only known as The Void. She was created to be the counterbalance to him. Where he stood for positive energy, life, and creation she was negative energy, death, and destruction. The two took years to find a way to coexist, to find a balance to their powers. When that balance was achieved, they came together to create lions. The joint project was a success; lions were different and showed traits of both entities. Each was unique. As time went on, it started to become apparent that the lions were more appreciative of Akbar and his powers of life and creation. Suha was quickly pushed aside and forgotten as she was seen evil. Taking this pretty hard, she retreated from the mortal realm and returned to the void.
Time went on and it was becoming blatantly obvious that life without death was not as amazing as it would seem. Life flourished to the point of claustrophobia. It was becoming crowded with creatures and plants. Needing her to reset the balance, Akbar pleaded with her to return and fix what had happened. It took some convincing as she was still dismayed about being labeled bad. Finally giving in, she once again returned to the mortal realm and brought forth her work. Plagues and natural disasters spread throughout the land to put things back to a balance. It took some time, but things slowly returned to a natural state. Now fully recognizing her abilities and seeing how much she is needed, the people promised to never forget how even the seemingly bad is needed.
While her official role is 'iilhat aldamar (goddess of destruction), she's classified as a deity. Being a deity is not something the pride itself gives.These roles are determined by fate, for back of a better term. As the iilhat aldamar she oversees the more undesirable things of the natural order. Suha is a force of destruction. As the counterbalance to life, she oversees death and ways to keep things balanced. Plagues, floods, droughts, fires, floods, and other natural disasters are seen as her doing. This was placed upon her during her creation. The void distilled these traits into her being. Something else she oversees is curses and more often than not magical abilities.
It's not really clear why she was given this role and not given the ability of creation, but there's not really a way to find out. The void just exists and therefore cannot be questioned. While at first her gifts seemed a burden, she has since come to accept who she is and what she can do. Suha is a goddess and is shown respect. While none in the pride have directly had contact with her, her influence can be seen in some of them. Jabali with his cursed markings that were passed down from his ancestors or even Jel with his magical ability to create fire. There are some occasions when she is revered or thanked for her work; often during a funeral or perhaps after a horrible disaster. The lions may not always understand why things happen, but they know it happens for a reason.

Suha means forgotten, overlooked in Arabic. This was not her first name. Being the goddess of destruction, she was instead known as 'iilhat aldamar which literally translates to "goddess of destruction" in Arabic. Suha was given much later. After she and the god of creation made the lions and they had first started to comprehend their existence, she was often pushed aside in favor of Akbar. Suha was a fitting name which she took upon herself after being called it by the creations. This was centuries ago and though she is no longer forgotten or overlooked, the name has stuck. She kind of likes it. It reminds her of how she overcame being labeled as the "bad guy" of the lions world.
