Algol was once a god. Still is, or so he claims, though that is somewhat up for debate. He was the Second of the behenian stars, a council of fifteen gods that ruled over their eternity. Algol was proud, selfish, and cruel. The right-hand man to the head of the pantheon.
It wasn’t until he met a minor deity that this changed. Solaria. She watched him strut and preen and boast and she found it sickening. She believed she deserved the power that he squandered. So she took it. Solaria killed Algol, taking one of his four lives, and became the sixteenth behenian. This enraged Algol, drove him to anger and bitterness powered by him losing his position as The Second to the previous Third, Regulus. Algol hunted Solaria down.
But gods aren’t allowed to kill other gods.
When he went to raise a hand against her the council leapt to his defence and condemned him to the closest thing they had to a prison, a void of light and power. A black hole.
It took him almost 1000 years to claw his way out, and when he did, he came back… wrong. A bitter, corrupted god, who went into hiding amongst the ruins of the people who used to worship him, who now barely even whisper his name.
He will take back his place within the council, but first, he needs to regain his power, and then, he needs to hunt down Solaria, once and for all.
