history
Hidden away in a corner of the Chult jungle, lived a small tribe of lizardfolk. In these cultures, every few generations there may be those born of a special type - good, or evil. While Versel was not one of them, there was not one, but two special cases hatched from the same clutch as him.
Immediately upon birth, it was obvious that Versel’s twin sibling, Othokent, was a hermaphrodite. Touched by their god, Semuanya, these types of rare lizardfolk are of higher intelligence than others, destined to become shamans of the tribe.
As the hatchlings began to reach adulthood, there started to become a rift in their tribe. One of their brothers, Thalvel, had gained a small following who often split off from the main hunt, to go and pillage other tribes and settlements. This was not of their regime, but Versel did not dare stand up to his much larger brother.
When the day came that the eldest shaman passed on, Othokent was to become the leader of the tribe. However, little of the tribe showed up for the ceremony. For that day, it was revealed that Thalvel’s intentions were not only to be hostile to other clans, but to all Lizardfolk, including that of his own….
He made this clear by stepping up and ripping Othokent’s throat out. As the rest of the tribe turned their eyes on Versel, he ran.

Chaotic Neutral // Lizardman
Cold and defensive from a life of hunting and surviving in the wild, Versel is easy to provoke and sometimes reckless, coming off as hostile. While he may adjust to a more domestic life, it's unlikely what has been conditioned by his heritage can be erased.
Versel is bent on surviving first and foremost, and will closely follow his instincts over anything else. This often means acting out of line, but he only does what he knows by nature.
He was previously isolated only to his own and a few other Lizardfolk tribes in his life. Without them, he was on his own. Now, he is part of a rather strange party full of races he's never seen before...
Like most Lizardfolk, this one also shares the lack of empathy and understanding of emotions and ethics that most humanoids have. It is simply not coded into his brain. He sometimes makes attempts to imitate those around him, but mostly fails.
personality
- With a physique crafted throughout many years of the hunt, Versel can be quite intimidating with his large athletic figure and battle scars. Dark, swampy green scales cover his body, mottled black, his belly a darker but still dull green. The green fades into a tall off-white sail along his spine, sides of his arms and leg.
- His tail is sweeping, his legs digitigrade, both muscular and powerful looking. Long claws on his webbed feet and toes.
- Piercing orange irises with a yellow ring around the pupils make for an intimidating glare, especially as they turn to slits when exposed to light.
- A gnarly scar across his lips on the right side, his expression almost always lacking - unless he is angry, that is, in which case his dagger-like teeth and large forked tongue are exposed and sharp claws bared.
Trivia
Talked us out of being executed at Camp Vengeance. Must be smart. A rather large fleshling, but sensitive - doesn't seem very appreciative of my traditions.
