Saivar is a tall, fit Vulcan with black hair, brown eyes, and bronze-toned skin. He commonly wears dark, fitted tunics or robes with earthy and red accents. Occasionally he wears some make-up and small earrings. Overall, Saivar likes to appear elegant as well as comfortable.

Although stoic in the typical Vulcan fashion, Saivar is caring and warm by nature. He is also moderately shy and may be self-conscious of various aspects of himself. Saivar struggles with hiding his anxiety and a possible obsessive disorder for fear of shame from other Vulcans.

It doesn't help much that he is a decade out of a failed marriage. It was a traditional Vulcan arranged marriage, which until recently would have been considered successful as they did have a child. It however ended in divorce once it came to light that his wife had been unfaithful. That was technically for the best as he had been staying in the closet for the duration, but especially after fifty years, he was crushed.

That unfortunate life event, however, spurred Saivar to pursue a career goal he had always had an interest in and joined a Vulcan research starship on a five-year expedition. He had always worked as a botanist on Vulcan, even holding lectures on occasion, but this was the first time he was able to explore other planets and biomes, fueling his curiosity further. It was during these travels that he met his current partner Zhaymak Mu'Dar, a Cardassian.
