Frankie is a miserable and easily-agitated scientist - but who wouldn’t be with a backstory like his? Adopted by a young boy named Victor during the late 19th century, Frankie once had a family to call his own. When he passed away, the Victor was distraught but managed to resurrect his old pooch using his scientific knowledge. With his family now deceased following an accident which he stills blames himself for, Frankie aims to find the secret to creating life like his owner did long ago so that he may resurrect them.

Nowadays, Frankie occupies himself by creating wacky inventions or dissecting bodies he sourced from robbed graves - he’s a workaholic by nature, and spends little time away from his craft. Although his perfectionist nature means that he strives for greatness, it often leaves Frankie feeling frustrated with himself (and others…). Oh, and the mad scientist persona? That’s an act he puts on more than anything - although his medical practices are questionable at the best of times, he would never go out of his way to harm anyone.

Trivia

• If he didn’t become an undead scientist, Frank would have most likely wanted to be a science teacher at a school. Unfortunately for him, not many school are keen to hire zombies.
• Although he would never admit it, Frankie loves swing music. When he’s by himself he even likes to dance and sing along to it.
• While Frankie is capable in all areas of science, he especially enjoys anatomy, medicine and engineering.
• None of the other creatures living in his castle speak German and so Frank uses this to his advantage - he will often mutter curses and insults under his breath in German when angry at the others, knowing that they won’t understand a word he’s saying.
• Frankie is probably viewed as a little unusual by my other zombie characters as he’s not interested in eating flesh and actually bothers to maintain some kind of hygiene, as opposed to the other zombies. He also puts a lot of dedication into his scientific work, which may also be viewed as strange by the other undead characters, who mostly spend their days wondering around aimlessly.

Design Notes

• His hair is not pure white.
• He has dark green bags under his eyes.
• His sclera is pale grey, not white.
• He has bolts in his neck.
• The stitches on his body are not random - please draw them in the exact positions shown on his reference sheet.
• Should ideally be drawn with slightly curly/wavy hair.
• Although I often draw him with a flat face, that is just how I personally choose to draw him - he CAN be drawn with a long snout!
• He can be drawn wearing any of his optional outfits and with any scientific/medical equipment.
