Profile

THE SUN

AKA: SUN DAD

basically the spirit embodiment of the Sun

Sun is the papa of our planetary system, the solar system. He's in charge of all of natures balances within our system we call home and acts as a parent to all the celestial bodies in it, including Planets, dwarf planets, Moons, Asteroids and Comets. He is our systems representative in the GALACTIC SUMMIT, a gathering of all stars in the milky way.

Sun is a proud and boisterous fellow who sticks his big button nose in everything he possibly can, demands the cente of attention and does his best to watch over his beloved planets with care and compassion. This, however, doesn't mean he is devoid of moments of weakness.

Sun is by default a lovely guy. He loves his celestial family very much and is supportive to most of their concerns, but he's loud and bossy, often trying to get everyone in the system to join in his efforts to show off to his neighbouring stars, be it through his organised choir or by simply boasting to his fellow star spirit neighbours about how his system supports life (something that demands respect amongst star spirit society)

Sun can be very selfish and near sighted. He often thinks about how he will be affected in most situations, but when it counts, he will be there for the ones who need him for support or to defend them.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Planets:

Mercury - TBA

Venus - To Sun, Venus is like a teenage daughter going through an eternally haughty stage. Venus "tolerates" Sun if only to make her life a little less hard. He often goes to her for money when visiting earth because of her frequent and stable second life there. Sun does not talk that much one to one with Venus and understands she really would like her own space, but it doesn't stop him jokingly teasing her because he knows how annoying she finds him and it amuses him when he manages to get a rise out of her.

Earth - Earth could be called suns favourite, hes very much the overly proud dad trope when hes around her. Others think this is simply because she supports life (though of course he is proud of that) but that is actually because she equally reciprocates that love.

Mars - Mars and Sun do not get along. Way back a few billion years, Mars had the early signs of life growing on his planets surface. But Mars does not have a magnetosphere, so his atmosphere was blown away by the onslaught of solar winds and subsequently, Mars lost their form of life.  This is neither celestial's fault, Sun hasn't got full control over his star's solar winds, but Mars has been sour toward Sun since then. They will often argue loudly, even getting physical with their powers. Otherwise Mars is throwing insults Sun's way and "playfully" mocking him. Sun tries to be patient with Mars as a parent, but his pride and ego is easily bruised and he lashes out most of the time. At their best, they are amicable in each others company, but they don't get into touchy-feely conversations.

Jupiter -  Sun see's Jupiter as the most responsible of all the planets and this may be true. He enjoys Jupiter's company and his compliance to his requests. He often goes to Jupiter to bitch and whine about other stars or how some of the other planets make him feel bad. He plays the victim in all these conversations.  Jupiter politely always makes time to listen but it can wear him down. Sun has a lot of confidence in Jupiter to be able to stick out hard times and to be a backbone to the sometimes rocky phases of the solar system. He doesn't give Jupiter the support he craves because he believes he is so strong. He is always taken aback if Jupiter appears to be struggling emotionally.

Saturn - Though Saturn can irritate Sun with talking over him and calling him "boss", Sun and Saturn get on very well, and he finds Saturn's knowledge of current events in the system to be very useful and interesting (since hes so self absorbed he misses MANY things)

Neptune - Neptune is a silent guy and isn't emotionally close to many but he's there when it counts and though he doesn't often spend one on one time with Sun, He will be there when he is distressed and needs a shoulder to cry on. He also comes out with the most unexpected yet perfectly timed quips at Sun's expense, that are so brilliant in their delivery, that even Sun finds them funny (and getting Sun to laugh about himself is not small feat).

Uranus - TBA

Pluto - Despite what the dumb humans think, Pluto is a planet and Sun isn't about to stop thinking so. He loves Pluto very much and acts with her in a similar way he does with Earth, though maybe in a slightly more patronising way and he babies her quite a lot, but she doesn't seem to mind.

Stars:

Scarlet - Scarlet was a Red nameless star that Sun met by chance at the galactic hub of the Milky-way.

Sun sometimes hands out flyers he's made to other celestials to encourage them to visit his beautiful solar system, specifically earth, as a holiday destination. Scarlet approached him, showing interest in his flyers. Sun is automatically put off by larger stars and at first is a bit rude and showy. Scarlet instead giggles at Suns attempts to be big and impressive and Sun's defences are broken down by how the nameless star doesn't seem to be bothered. The nameless star starts talking to Sun, who comes to quite like their company and they agree to meet again next time Sun was at the hub. They do so a few times, each time Sun becoming more smiley and enjoying this mysterious stars anecdotes about what amazing things they've seen across the universe.

Sun starts to feel a pull to the stars energy and finds himself wanting to be around them more and more. He likes how he feels around them and this star also feels this way. They become very close and quickly develop strong romantic feelings toward each other. The nameless star reveals he comes from an empty part of space outside of any galaxy and has no planets or sibling stars, thus he was never given a name. Sun asks if he can name him and the star agrees. Sun calls him Scarlet, a human word for his beautiful Red hue.

Scarlet shows sun the parts of space he's never seen and takes him to amazing planets he would never have thought to visit. Sun in return takes Scarlet to his own planets, mostly earth, where they enjoy themselves disguised as humans, attending parties, trying out "human" things. They grow so close that Sun see's Scarlet every day and doesn't spend a lot of time with his planets. 10 earth rotations pass and they are still very happy, though in celestial terms this is a relatively short amount of time.

suddenly and without warning, Scarlet stops showing up. not at Sun's system, not at the hub, nowhere. At first Sun is worried. Then furious. Then a mixture of anxious and furious. He goes to the hub every day in hopes Scarlet will turn up to no avail. eventually he is able to get the information of where Scarlet's location is in the universe (he was never taken to his star). He teleports there to find Scarlet gazing at his own star. He is revealed to be a super-massive red giant, thousands of times bigger than the sun and on the brink of death. Sun is at first furious that Scarlet hid this from him then quickly overcome with grief, knowing that Scarlet could die any minute. He was unprepared for this, ignorant in the idea that Scarlet was just a red giant as Sun would one day be and that they could burn out together as white dwarfs whenever that day came. Sun is unable to fully articulate his feelings in time, but Scarlet calmly and sincerely tells Sun just how much he loves him and how Sun made his entire existence whole in the end. Sun, unable to find the words, shares one last kiss seconds before Scarlet goes supernova. The blast throws Sun out into the empty void of space howling in grief and misery.

It's many earth weeks before Sun returns to the solar system and he immediately retreats into the Sun for a few more weeks. He doesn't tell the planets what happened.

200 years later, Sun spots the supernova of scarlet in the sky from earths moon, finally affirming the death of his one great love.

Sun eventually comes to terms with the death of Scarlet, though the love he experienced and the pain of losing them never fully leaves him.
