Isaiah is an enigma; he has a peculiarity about him due to his unconventional methods. Most would call him looney, but he would prefer to be called esoteric--understood by a few. Life is too short to live life normally, thus, he is not motivated by the common desires of status or wealth, but rather, more philosophical reasons. However, Isaiah doesn’t mind if others don’t understand him; he rarely pays attention to the feelings of others anyways. Although he’s apathetic to people and lacks empathy, he isn’t unfriendly and is pretty open to new company.

Furthermore, Isaiah is a free-spirited individual who cannot be tied down to a fixed lifestyle. Since he was younger, he’s always been filled with curiosity and spontaneity. He’s the type to hyperfixate on whatever catches his eye and spends every waking minute devoted to seeking the answer he’s looking for. However, as quick as he tends to tunnel-vision a certain subject, Isaiah is also likely to drop it just as fast. With his fickle and selfish behavior, he does whatever he wants--often out of pure self-indulgence.

Despite his whimsical behavior, Isaiah can be deceivingly perceptive. He is rather observant and remembers small details that may seem insignificant. However, he is also quite irresponsible in that he would take risks that one normally wouldn’t. It would be boring to follow steps in order, so why not jump to the last one?

History

TLDR;

Isaiah Briar had taken up his name after casting away his life in Russia. There, he was seen as a pitiful, troubled boy who experienced amnesia after losing his mother to a devastating earthquake. He stole money from the kind, yet distant, aunt and uncle who took him in after the incident and rode a plane to America. In a new country with nothing to restrain him, he jumped from place to place until a certain event caught his eye. It just so happened that the event occurred near Meteor City, so he decided to make it his next location to run to and with Anomalies being his next big interest, he applied to LQCC.

Prologue.

A young adolescent with grey hair descended from a passenger plane. He had no name, no family—nothing to call his own, yet his eyes didn’t reflect the nuances of such a person. Far from desperation and despair, the boy followed his desires and wandered wherever the wind took him.

“Isaiah Briar,” the name plastered on a missing child’s poster— “Ah yes, this shall be my name,” whispered the boy elatedly.

This was fourteen years ago.

Prequel.

A family: something that’s supposed to provide one with warmth and comfort, something that’s an irreplaceable existence to most. Rewinding back, ▇▇▇ may have once had something similar, but the first memory he recalled was the distinct smell of antiseptic and cleaners wafting through the air. He awoke atop of a hospital bed, unable to recall any prior events despite the murmurs of nurses.

“Poor him.”

“He was so young.”

“It must have been traumatic.”

An older couple claiming to be his aunt and uncle had come later that evening, throwing their arms over the child while crying. Who were they? The young boy felt a disconnect from reality; was he supposed to live the life of the tragic boy who was said to have lost his mother to an earthquake? To have lost his memories due to the shock of seeing debris crush his mother’s body? No. He entered a manic episode and screamed hysterically before passing out, and when he awoke, he had no recollection of the breakdown. Although worried about their nephew’s state of mind, they had pitied the child even more and agreed to become his legal guardians. They arranged for the boy to be homeschooled and sheltered from the outside world and even though they treated him well, they were unable to connect with him emotionally.

However, as the years passed by, ▇▇▇ was growing less and less like the charming child he once was. He would spend hours drawing the same thing over and over again—each time more and more disturbed. Until one day, he began to grow frustrated with this stable life that repeated itself like a broken record. How long was he going to live like this? Five, no, ten years, until the rest of his life? He feared it—wasting away like this with no alternatives.

At the dead of night, he stole a drawerful of cash, that his guardians left in the top corner of their closet, and took off to the nearest airport. A one-way ticket to freedom from Russia; he selected a random flight based on the numbers he liked most, ultimately leading him to America.

Chapter I.

Since then, Isaiah hopped from state to state while working different jobs each time, whether he quit or was fired for his antics. He was the local diner’s chef, the chatterbox of a taxi driver, the quiet construction worker, etc. No one could pinpoint who he was or what his goal in life was, only that he was a free spirit. He lived by pursuing whatever, or whomever, interested him most—a mystery of a man, “Isaiah Briar.”

It was at his next job that he had finally found something that nagged at his very core.

He was mixing drinks at a small bar when a devastating, nationwide fiasco played on the evening news. A plane had gone missing right before it reached its destination; it basically vanished into thin air. Controversies of all sorts began to rise amongst the customers but Isaiah just nodded and smiled like usual; he paid minimal attention to the news anchor until a certain name resounded amongst the listed passengers.

“▇▇ ▇▇▇”

Although he could never quite remember people whose lives, at one point, crossed with his, it bothered him that he couldn’t quite place a face on this specific name. Who could this mysterious woman be? His mind throbbed more violently the harder he tried to remember. The emotion that overcame him was a new experience for him and it grabbed his interest. In the end, Isaiah convinced himself that the mystery of the plane was more important than the woman…. yes! How could he feel anything about a woman he’d never known?

Chapter ??.

He decided to quit his job once again and travel the road. This time, he ran all the way to Meteor City, the last area that was said to have been in contact with the spirited-away-plane, as well as the hub of all things Anomaly. Isaiah had heard of the supernatural beings, and the whole catastrophe that had shaken up the Earth years before he was born, but never took interest in them until word on the street was that an Anomaly caused the plane’s disappearance. To get as much access as he could to the Anomalies and the ANM-01 crater territory, Isaiah applied to the Lawrence Quigley Consulting Company. His heart throbbed with excitement, maybe everyone was right to say he was crazy…maybe this was the thrill he was looking for.
