Trivia

She always wears a necklace Faelux made for her as a kid.

Faelux's ribbon originally belonged to her, but Netrea gave it to her daughter as a good luck charm when she first left Horizon.

Story

Pre-Legacy Era

Netrea was born and raised in Camp Drybone with her twin brother, Mitok. Life was difficult for them, but they managed to get by, with Netrea even being married once she turned twenty. However, that happy time was a bit short lived; not only was her husband a sickly miner with a poor immune system, but a year later she lost the child she was carrying prematurely. It wasn't long after that her husband was crushed to death in a mining accident, leaving her only with the lavender ribbon he'd given her the day before their bonding ceremony.

She was planning to move to Horizon... but something caught her attention before she left Camp Drybone. She'd heard rumors of a child having been left at one of the church's graves, and wanted to see if it was true. Lo and behold it was; there was a little Raen infant, with peculiar odd eyes and white limbal rings. Hearing that the girl had no one, being left abandoned where one of the church sisters found her and Netrea's recent tragedies being well known there, Father Iliud allowed Netrea to take the Raen in as her own. Netrea would then leave Camp Drybone to join her twin in Horizon.

"Legacy" Era

With the help of her brother, Netrea raised the Raen girl she adopted in Horizon, naming her Faelux after their family's founder. Things were mostly quiet, making a small living off the clothing and potions she could sell. Though, things began to pick up when her brother joined the recently-founded Immortal Flames, wanting to contribute to stopping the Garlean Empire.

Just before leaving for Carteneau, Mitok told Netrea some very important information; that, should Faelux show an interest in thaumaturgy, to give her the Soul of the Black Mage that was passed down through their family. That he felt as though she could achieve something great, and if he was right, she would need all the help she could get. That would be the last time they spoke, as he would perish to Bahamut. She would fashion together a memorial for him made from his scepter and buckler, and just as he thought, Faelux began to show an interest in thaumaturgy in the months to come...

Seventh Astral Era

As Faelux grows up, Netrea continues to do everything she can to support the girl, though it becomes increasingly difficult as time goes on due to the multiple issues found in Thanalan. When Faelux decides to become an adventurer, at first she tries to persuade her daughter against the idea, but becomes supportive when she sees how serious Faelux is. Netrea makes a set of clothes special for the occassion, and entrusts the hair ribbon her husband gave her to Faelux as well to act as a protective good luck charm. She also lends Faelux the scepter and buckler her brother once wielded in the Battle of Carteneau.

Netrea remains in Horizon as Faelux quickly makes a name for herself, rushing over to her daughter when she sees Faelux with the "adventurer" that had saved her and her two friends a few years prior. Though, the reunion was short lived as Faelux dragged the man away from the scene while mumbling something. Netrea was able to tell her that the Raen's friends left for Ul'dah too, however, shortly after Faelux had. Netrea would also fulfill Mitok's request; before the two left Horizon, she entrusted Faelux with the Soul of the Black Mage. Netrea would not see Faelux again until much later, when an Elezen man in a cloak of red, white, and black came to Horizon. He claimed to be an ally of Faelux, providing a note from her as proof, and that he was to escort her to the Waking Sands for her own safety. Once Urianger explained the situation with the Sultana, she agreed to go to the Waking Sands. However, Netrea would not see her daughter until she returned with Raunahn after barely saving his life.

After that tearful reunion, Netrea begins to aid the Scions, both for Louisoux's work five years prior and for keeping her daughter safe. She's often seen mending their belongings, or helping Tataru with her various tasks.
