Very tacky backstory. Needs a lot of rework hmhmhmhmhhmhmhm.....

History:  Initially Lithium started out as quite an average fox. She had quite an affinity for shrines and temples, quite often she could be seen exploring places of spiritual significance. Many years passed in this way, and without knowing, she had gathered quite a bit of energy from the places she explored- rendering her capable of small feats of supernatural abilities. It was only minuscule things at first, a flicker of sparks appearing when she focused hard enough, or a pile of leaves changing hue at her command- at first on accident, but later intentionally as her intellect surpassed that of her species. It left her very hungry for more though- more power, more influence over the elements, more trickery! And that very hunger lead her to the acquisition of her second tail; a feat by no means normal as very few foxes become kitsunes without the lineage to show for it. But tedious intake of power from her normal sources was not enough to quench her desire and it wasn't long after her third tail that she attempted to sap another creature of it's life. Eating prey was normal enough, but to steal the souls of living things was a far darker practice. She continued this, stepping up her targets from plants, to mice, to eventually- the life of another fox. It wasn't something she was initially regretful about, but she later came across a struggling family yearning for the return of a pet. It didn't take Lithium long to realize the animal they were awaiting... and for her guilt to seep in. When she realized the life she had taken impacted others, saw that maybe she had no right to kill it on the sole basis of being a higher creature, she resented her actions. Thereafter, she perfected the art of illusion, and poured her energy into maintaining a careful visage of the previous vulpine. The other family bought the act for a good while, relieved to have their companion visiting once again. Things seemed well, but the financial situation of the family worsened, and when fairly shady debt collectors arrived to extort them, Lithium was at a loss of what to do.  The situation called for action, but she was reluctant to hurt another creature lest her illusion wear off, lest she be faced with the guilt of taking yet another life. Lithium wasted no time in disposing of the attacker, her decision then certain- but the revelation of her true form and her dangerous abilities. She then fled her home and territory, unable to bear the shame of what she had done.
