Profile

Becoming famous as a sailor is no easy task, considering that the profession is rarely in the public eye. But Montgomery Quaid (“Monty” to his friends, and he insists that everyone call him that) has quickly become incredibly notorious since the infamous Cerulean Countess incident. In the news story that gripped the American public, the then-17-year-old managed to steer the ship of the same name to safety while it was caught in a hurricane and the captain was incapacitated. The incident gained him worldwide attention, and he quickly became one of the most talked-about people in America. Despite this, Monty returned to sailing immediately after he was cleared to do so, claiming in his few public appearances that he had “Just done what he had to do” and that all he really wanted was to return to the sea. Since then, he’s helmed several successful voyages for the cargo ship he calls home. Oddly, public records of his existence before the incident are incredibly scarce.
