Yuki is on the swim team on volleyball off season. She actually hates swimming. She only does it cause she almost drowned several times and she's the type of person who has to overcome her fears. She hasn't overcome heights tho. It's why she screams when bokuto picks her up and spins her around

Figured out why she was in a gang. Abusive household. It was a way of both protection and to spend as much time out of the house when akaashi's parents would be like k time to go home now kiddo. Her parents are government workers so she felt like there was no other help for her. She quit the gang only because they got a new leader and branched off into committing way more violent crimes. When akaashi sees her talking with an old gang member, he misreads the situation. They were only warning her to be careful because the new leader was cleaning house of defectors but reassuring there were still a few of them left in her corner and would do all they could to keep their promise in protecting her

Before Yuki is manager, she and bokuto meet for the first time when she runs into the gym telling akaashi he doesn't need to walk her home.
Bokuto is just staring at her as they talk and he gets hit in the face with the ball

After she's manager and they lose a game, bokuto on his knees in front of her as she sits on the bench. His arms wrapped around her and his face buried in her stomach as she runs her hand through his deflated hair. She smiles down softly at him as she tells him what a good job he did and how cool he looked. He looks up at her, still feeling he's undeserving of being the ace. She leans down and plants a soft lingering kiss to his forehead. "Youll get them next time, ace"
He buries his face again moreso to hide the blush on his face as he mumbles an inaudible "best wife"

Yuki goes to a different school than bokuto. They also spend weekends together and FaceTime as much as possible. WILL EVEN FACETIME DURING CLASSES

Yuki proposes at bokuto's high school graduation ceremony complete with twist tie ring from a loaf of bread. I mean, obviously bokuto screeches yes while twirling her around but he proposes a year later at her graduation with an actual ring. If ever asked who proposed first Yuki will say she did but bokuto will say his was the real proposal

The entire gym could tell Bokuto was on edge. He kept missing Akaashi's sets. When he was able to hit them, there was so much aggression in his spike. It wouldn't be long until Bokuto reverted to his emo mode. Akaashi glanced at the couch. The couch nodded, blowing his whistle, calling for a water break.
"What's troubling you, Bokuto-san?" Akaashi asked, approaching the ace as their team members on the other side of the court drank their water as if they were traveling for hours in a hot desert.
"I just don't get it, Akaashi," Bokuto whined, "we had a really good date! She even let me kiss her! Now, she won't answer my texts and is avoiding me ." He pouted, glaring at the floor as he mumbled "like she's better than me or something."
Akaashi frowned. "I'm sure she's not avoiding you..."
"Oh, yeah? Then why isn't she here? She's a manager, isn't she? So she should be here doing...I don't know, manager stuff!"
Akaashi rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. He didn't think it was right to reveal what Yuki told him and Toshiko in confidence. This wasn't just about getting their ace to the top of his game again. He knew how much he liked Yuki. It was evident in the way he took a volleyball to the face the moment she walked into the gym. In the way he talked about her. In the way his eyes had a hard time glancing away from her.
Akaashi sighed. "Yuki likes you very much, Bokuto-san. She just thinks you're the one who's too good for her. Every decision has a good or bad consequence. Her choices happen to have led to bad ones. So, she doesn't feel good enough for you. She thinks if she distances herself, you'll fall for someone else."
Bokuto looked up, his expression intense. "That's so stupid."
"Bokuto-san?"
"That should be my choice, not hers, and my choice is always going to be her!"
The entire gym shifted to the two teammates upon hearing the booming voice.
In an instant, Bokuto rushed out the gym. Akaashi sighed, turning to the coach. He opened his mouth to speak before he caught the sight of Bokuto's head peaking around the corner of the doorway, his hair deflated.
"Bokuto-san?"
Bokuto only gestured for Akaashi to approach him.
"Uh...uhm...where is she?"
Akaashi smiled softly.

when needing to be comforted:
Yuki: will call him Bokuto. Since she usually calls him Taro or Bo(before they get together) that's how he knows something's wrong. Self-sabotage. Will distance. While no longer on house arrest, she still has curfew which she breaks when feeling off. Akaashi always alibis her cause best bro.

Cooking Together: chaos. Pure chaos. First time recipes always come out horribly. Freak out when either of them gets hurt. Ex. Small cut, burn, etc.
I see bokuto def the type to stand guard to watch water boil.
Yuki is the type to forget and it evaporates out. "TARO, I THINK I BURNED THE WATER"

Separately, they're both probably good at cooking smaller, simpler dishes

When Yuki gets fever:
Since they live together, Akaashi makes her stay home. When bokuto doesn't see her, he will skip the entire day to go be with her.

Yuki's first year of high school was spent being homeschooled due to being on house arrest. She was under a strict rule by way of the judge which is why she couldn't just go to school with the ankle monitor on. Because the way of teaching was severely different, she had a hard time grasping things when she started school in her second year. She cries when she's stressed out and starts calling herself stupid and an idiot and useless and "I can't do it!" Akaashi often has to invite Bokuto over to help calm her down

Yuki, Toshiko, Akaashi have a graduation party at a restaurant which turns into an engagement party when Bokuto proposes
