Bradley Acerbi

Personality:            

Upon a first glance, and, to be honest, glances after that, he comes off as the typical, high class snob. His haughty, better than you attitude is matched with his magic potential, but withstand his blows and you'll find that he's a lot weaker than he presents himself to be. In reality, he's nothing more than a half-magic that struggles to keep his position as a 'pure' in the magic hierarchy,  often resulting in rude behavior towards half magics, doing reckless acts that abuse his ranking in the magic society, and displaying a terrible case of a superiority complex. He does all of this for a sense of security: above everything, he fears being found out and kicked out of his own family for not being the pure magic that they raised him to be, even if it means being beaten up by someone for his 'belief that halfies are lower than him.'

Despite his....generally terrible attitude, if one gets him to open up to them (and either is a pure, or is a half magic that has ensured that they're both alone), he's a lot more soft spoken and socially awkward  than he appears to be. Part of this is perhaps the fact that he doesn't  know how to actually talk to people anymore, as he's far too scared about saying something that a pure 'wouldn't say.' He gets flustered easily, cries a lot, and apologizes frequently. He probably is also the type that would be very clingy, but more in the 'please stay with me' side of the coin, as he's paranoid that touching people might cause him to shock them.

While he does like things to be in order, he tends to come off as a neat freak due to his dislike and possible fear of being too close to people and animals. 

Backstory:

Bradley's existence came from an error in his own mother's plans.

A lively party that she had a little too much fun at resulted with a short, but lovely relationship with a man that was never meant to be there - a human who had stumbled in on the party by chance. By the time  the woman knew of the man's status, she was already expecting a child. Fearing the worst, but also wishing to keep her child, she used her  magic to erase her existence with the man, and immediately wedded a pure magic who clambered eagerly to her for her wealth. thus, when Bradley was born, everyone thought of him as nothing more than the successful  son of the 'greatest magic user in the city.'

This of course, turned into an issue when she learned that Bradley didn't acquire any magic. She sought help from an experimental 'doctor', who gave Bradley an artificial, but magic-powered heart, one that would  allow the boy to fit in with his magic gifted students as a user of electricity. To Bradley, all he could recall was that 'he had been caught up in a car accident.'

All these years of hiding Bradley's condition not only weakened his mother, but made her job of hiding magic's existence as a whole weaker:  more and more half magics began to spring up as the years passed, and, when his mother passed, the ability to hide the existence of magic began to crumble.

Magic:

Bradley, being a half-magic, means that he's able to learn any sort of magic if he has the proper accessory to fuel it. However, since pure magics are only supposed to have one power (one they can't change once they awaken to their powers), Bradley pretends that his power over electricity is his only magic. Of the magic he's studied, these are the following that he's kept:

• Electricity: Perhaps his 'trademark' power, Bradley has the most experience with electricity due to the object that powers it -- his heart. Since he stubbornly refuses to learn about this form of magic as a half-magic, claiming that he 'doesn't need the practice due to his pure standing', he has very little control over the stray bolts that escape when stressed, angered, or even excited. If he uses up too much of this power in one go, his heart has a fail-safe 'shut off' that puts him into a slumber until his magic recharges. Lastly, he can absorb electricity in his heart to power himself up, but too much results in overactive energy and difficultly sleeping at night.
• Healing: The weaker of the two, but useful for minor scrapes and bruises. Bradley usually casts this magic after he's had a scuffle with someone he's probably angered, as appearances are really important. He's often too scared to use it in public, however -- and especially not on another person.

Other Info:

• Presentation is important to him; he likes to stand out with flashy attire or makeup because he dislikes seeing himself without it.
• While he's no pro, he enjoys gardening. He wants to grow medical herbs and study how they work with the human body (magic wise or otherwise)
• He dislikes the sound of frogs, as one of his classmates pulled a prank on him during class (they were dissecting frogs)
• He dyes his hair basically all the time with the funds +maybe the use of magic? We just don't know his secret....
