This is where notes about Sweven monsters go

-------------------------------------------

Flesh Walls

  • type of supernatural mold that absorbs everything around it
  • Usually appears in already abandoned buildings
  • Attracted to negative energy
  • smells of raw meat

Main methods of removal: burning the entire building, eating it (very dangerous), having a psychic dissolve it, try very hard to clean it like normal mold (not very effective if it's spread around the house), just leave (lazy)

[ subset of flesh wall: sweetbread ]

  •  takes the appearance of red meat and hides inside objects (small/medium sized)
  • unlike a normal flesh wall, sweetbread can bleed (flesh walls usually just have puss, fat, water and jelly)

Ghosts

  • spirits of the deceased, their abilities (appearance, visibility, physicality) vary greatly
  • they are affected by:
    • culture of the area
    • beliefs of the departed person(s) and their emotions
    • cause of death, memories of that death
    • rumors

Main methods of removal: traditional exorcism (successfulness varies), "physical" destruction (not recommended, the spirit may harm/kill someone on their way out (parts of the spirit may also linger)), helping them move on

Vampires (and vampire-like beings)

  • vampires are rare, especially "western" varieties
  • dhampirs no longer exist and many vampires don't live very long nowadays
  • they are affected by:
    • culture of the area
    • type of vampire that turned them
    • rumors
    • mental state (not uncommon for them to lose their minds over time or right after they're turned)
  • consistent weaknesses:
    • sunlight, silver, holy objects
  • consistent abilities:
    • superhuman strength, regeneration, immortality, flight, feeding off of humans
Main methods of removal: asking nicely, running away, slaying them (methods vary on type)

[ Wayne specifically ]

  • he's most similar to a Dracula-esc vampire
  • can stay in the sun as long as his skin is covered (will catch fire otherwise, sun still weakens him even with protection)
  • has not learned how to turn people, make servants or use mind control (does not want to)
  • can't fly (can use his wings as shields or to jump)
  • can use his bones as weapons
  • has fast regeneration and no reflection
  • can eat spirits and other oddities (eating spirits isn't common for vampires)
  • survives if his head is cut off
  • specific weaknesses:
    • flowing water
    • garlic (still tries to eat it, it's like an allergy)
    • psychic powers

[ Velvet specifically ]

  • can eat spirits and other oddities
  • can fly
  • fights barehanded (only uses brute strength with no special moves)
  • survives if her head is cut off
[ The current "Dracula" specifically ]
  • revives via manifestation
  • able to posses people/ use mind control
  • can fly
  • most of Wayne's points apply to him
Curses
  • spirits with negative energy (or simply the energy itself) that come from negative emotions, unfulfilled desires, and fears
  • many feed off the same type of energies they came from and cause misfortune, physical or mental deterioration, or outright death
  • they have varying levels of danger and can effect both living beings and spirits of the deceased
  • they can take the form of humanoid figures or even a physical space

Methods of removal: exorcism/cleansing, having a psychic dissolve it, being eaten by a another supernatural being

[ subset of curse: rumor ]

  • they are curses created by stories of supernatural dangers; popular rumors are not guaranteed to be manifested into reality, however
  • rumors can be the most lethal kind of curse next to deliberately crafted curses (these can also overlap)
  • rumors grow as more people talk about them
  • they become more dangerous if the rumors being spread also twist to become more violent
  • they can be harder to get rid of than normal curses, as they have the possibility come back when people keep talking about them
  • rumors can possess ghosts and make them malicious
